Chapter 34

"What's up Jeff. I've actually been here a while. Good to see you again Ella" Clay smiles at the pair who he couldn't understand why they weren't together. If anyone who didn't know them took one look at them it would be pretty safe for them to assume that Jeff And Ella were a couple and it confused clay. He didn't know what she saw in Monty that made him so great when she had both Jeff and Zach wrapped around her finger tightly. She was a warrior and he was a dreamer. She was the brain and the brain and he was the heart. They were to halves that made one whole and if one of the halves broke then it wouldn't take long for the other half to come crashing down after it

"You've come a really long way clay" Jeff says with a proud smile as he looks over at the boy who was not only his tutor but one of  his best friends

"Yeah clay. We're real proud of you and it's good to see you happy" Ella smiles and places her small hand on his shoulder and gives him a proud and happy grin that was only familiar to a rare few pupils

"Yeah Ellas right. I think that with our work together you have made some more progress" Jeff says and shoves his hand in a bowl of chips and begins eating them with a smile

Clay looks up as the door opens with a hopeful look on his face and two girls from their school walk in and the hopeful look leaves his face

Ella and Jeff look between clay and the door with sly grins etched onto their faces and look over at clay suggestively

"Is she coming?" Jeff and Ella both ask with grins on their faces while they waited to see whether or not their ship between clay and Hannah was sailing

"What? Who do you mean?" Clay asks the Pair in confusion though he was pretty sure That they had both figured him out already

Ella and Jeff scoff playfully at the boy, he knew who they were talking about and he was playing dumb which was hard for someone who is so smart so they saw right through him

"Okay man" Jeff grins cheekily and grins down at Ella who was wearing a matching smirk on her bright face

"Whatever you say clay" Ella grins and then Jeff tugs on her hand and they walk away from clay

"God how long is it gonna take for him to make a move?" Ella laughs and they look around for some of their friends while greeting the people they knew which was basically everyone

"I know. Let's make a bet alright see how long it'll take them" Jeff grins cheekily and she nods her head excitedly with a smirk on her face

"Oh it is on" she growls "I bet 50 bucks that neither of them will get the guts to ask each other out" Ella says excitedly

"And I bet 50 bucks that they will" Jeff replies with a smirk on his face and they shake hands aggressively in front of them with smirks on their faces

It was late on Sunday night and Justin was walking down the street with his bag over his shoulder and shaking from the cool air that was aggressively biting at his skin. He had just got in a giant argument with his mum's boyfriend and nobody was answering not even Ella

Ella cheered happily at the Tv as she beat both Montgomery for what seemed like the millionth time and turned to them with a smirk and said "come on bub just face it, I'm better than you at video games"

"Your cheating" Montgomery replies and pouts at the girl while Zach laughs and says "no way"

The Monty  grips his  PlayStation controller in his hand competitively and say "rematch"

Ella grins "nah I'm done for the night" and turns to see Jess and Bryce getting close at the table playing poker and she furrows her eyebrows in anger and confusion but doesn't say anything because technically they hadn't done anything wrong yet but she was suspicious and went to grab her phone and text Justin but when the screen turned in she noticed all the missed calls and messages from him and her heart stopped and she stood up in worry and the two boys on the couch look at her in confusion

"Babe what wrong" Montgomery asks and drops the controller on the table and stands up next to hero's everything okay"

"I've gotta call justy" Ella says quickly and presses the call button and the ringing tone rings and then goes to voicemail signifying that he hadn't picked up and she repeats the process again a few more times but he doesn't answer

"I gotta go" Ella says quickly and turns to kiss Montgomery on the lips quickly

"But we only just got here baby. Just stay a little bit" he replies

"I'm sorry monty but I have to go. Something is wrong with Justin" Ella says quickly and then notices Zach looking down with guilt on his face and she walks over to him angrily "did you know something was wrong?"

Zach doesn't says anything and doesn't look up to her which makes her scoff

"Are you serious Zachary. He's your best fucking friend" Ella growls angrily and goes to leave but Justin comes storming in

Ella goes over to him quickly but Montgomery grabs her and pulls her down onto his lap. She tries to stand up and go to Justin but montys grin stays firm around her waist

"It's best to stay out of it" Montgomery whispers to her

"That's my fucking brother Monty" Ella says angrily and her cheeks were going slightly red from the stress and anger building up inside of her

Ellas words makes Bryce and Jess turn toward them and a giant smile makes its way into Bryce walkers face as he says "justy, Alex it's about time you guys got here. These cards are getting stale come on sit down"

Justin sticks his hands in his pockets awkwardly and says "actually Jess and I had this thing planned"

Ella was filled with confusion as she looked at Justin, something was wrong and Ella could tell Justin wanted the girl out of there and away from Bryce Walker

Jess scoffs at Justin's words and begins to shuffle the deck of cards in her hands "no we don't"

"We were gonna get late dinner" he says and tries to make Jess see what he was doing but she only rolled her eyes as he finishes "Let's go"

"When did you tell me about dinner?" Jess asks "was that before or after you walked out on me today?"

The room went silent and Zach looked over at Ella with pleading eyes but she only glared at him

"Oh... Justin it sounds like you better make it up to her" Bryce says "by losing a few hands come on sit" Bryce pats the seat next to him and Justin walks over and sits down hesitantly

"Come on Ella why don't you come over and join us since you don't wanna play any more video games" Bryce smirks

"Actually I think she's pretty comfortable over here" Montgomery says to Bryce

"She can sit on you later. Get over her Emblen" Bryce smirks and Ella rolls her eyes but stand up and walks over to them and sits down on a seat next to Justin And Zach

Zach clears his throat and shifts in his chair awkwardly "alright, well uh, the game is Texas hold 'em. Five dollar Ante. Five dollar minimum bet"

Ella pulls ten dollars out of her pocket and slams it on the table

"Don't worry I got you staked" Bryce says to Justin "your girlfriend has been playing with my money all night anyways"
