"are you uhh.. okay?" hyein glanced worriedly at the male beside her who had a big frown on his face as he stared blankly at the passing scenery through the car's window
the two teenagers were on their way to school and hyein noticed how unusual he's being today. usually, chenle would pass out smiles to her first thing in the morning but the male only stared blankly into the wall or any other items around the house, he didn't even hear hyein's greeting until a few minutes after
he looked deep in thoughts and hyein knew he has something bothering him and she was even more sure when she saw him walking into the wall because his eyes were to focused on the floor
she thought it wouldn't be safe to have chenle behaving like this so she wanted to help him, just like how helped her before.
chenle heard the girl this time but he kept silent before shaking his head side to side without taking his eyes off the window. hyein frowned at the male before inching closer as she softly asks,
"do you wanna talk about it or?.." chenle then shook his head once again which left hyein hopeless. she sighs before nodding - deciding to just drop it
minutes later they arrived at school. they both got out of the car and chenle quickly walked inside the school, leaving hyein all alone
the frown came back to hyein's face as began to think that maybe she did something wrong to make him act like this and in between that thinking, she didn't notice a figure approaching her from behind
"HYEIN!" hyein flinched at the loud voice before turning around to be faced with smiling sowon. hyein lightly slapped the girl's arm as she scolded how loud her voice was and sowon only stuck her tongue out at her which made hyein sighed tiredly
then sowon interlocked their arms together and made hyein started to walk with her inside the school. "what were you thinking about?"
the thoughts about chenle came back to her mind which made her groaned in despair before shaking her head.
"it's not important" "lies"
"fine, i just don't want to tell you" sowon stopped in her tracks which made hyein also stopped. hyein turned to her friend as she saw sowon with her mouth opened as a dramatic gasp left her lips
but her disappointed facade soon changed into a unbothered demeanor as she shrugs before starting their walk again
"fine, you better not regret not telling me" hyein only nods as she felt really grateful for her best friend. yes they are best friends but even best friends can't tell each and every of their secrets or in hyein's case, those deep thoughts of hers
