t h i r t y

first of all, i don't play basketball and i rarely watch any basketball matches apart from my school's matches so yea im a bit uneducated abt the sport, sorry hehe

"a bet? are you on to something?"

hyein's brows were knitted together as she narrowed her eyes while looking suspiciously at the male in front of her. the male in suspicion immediately had a surprised look by her words and shook his head while making an 'x' over his chest.

"so?"

guanlin sighed at the girl before shrugging his shoulders, "it's just or fun. is it supposed to have a reason?"

guanlin tried his best to voice out his reply convincingly as he could to make hyein agree to his request. hyein eyed the male briefly before taking a deep breath as she nodded her head,

"fine. what's the bet?"

guanlin's signature gummy smile immediately came out at hearing her answer. suddenly, there were a few loud cheers not far from where they're standing and that was a reminder to guanlin that he doesn't have much time left before the game.

"well? the game's ab-" "if i score more than 10 points, you have to grant a wish of mine"

hyein slowly processed his words before nodding her head slowly as she said, "and if you don't?"

"i'll grant your wish"

hyein had her lips pursed, a habit of hers when she's thinking. she thought hard whether to agree or not but when she saw a few glimmers of hope in guanlin's eyes - instantly gave her a final decision.

"deal, but i wanna change the 10 into 15 because i know 10's too easy for you"

hyein's words earned a laugh from guanlin as he nodded his head as a sign he agrees since he has no problem with the number. guanlin oustretched his hand for hyein to shake on as their deal's seal which she took.

noticing that their hands were joined at the moment, guanlin took it as an opportunity to be cheeky. he gripped her hand tightly and pulled her slightly towards him so it'll shortened their distance. hyein looks up with an amused look on her face due to his action.

"i can give you 20"

"better make it 30 then"

"actually- 15's fine"

"you, don't be too cocky and do your best" hyein outstretched her finger as she pointed it towards chenle who was just peacefully stretching. not caring to check his reaction, hyein turned to the side a bit and pointed at the male in front of her,

"you, stop giving fanservice to the girls and focus on the game"

guanlin blinked repeatedly at hyein as he felt attacked out of nowhere while chenle stifled his laughter silently which earned a glare from the tall male. hyein shruggs and was about to walk away so she could encourage the other guys but was stopped by chenle

hyein turns around to see chenle heading towards her with an amused face. "you really need to work on your 'encouragement' skills"

hyein let out an innocent smile as she calmly said, "but what i said were facts though" which made the male snort before he tiredly nodded his head at her

"yeayea whatever you say" chenle ruffled her hair lightly as an attempt to tease her which was successful since he saw hyein's eye twitched from the annoyance of getting her hair messed up.

chenle chuckled before patting her head once and said, "don't forget to cheer for me later" before leaving towards the court.

hyein sighs before busily tidying her hair, forgetting that another male was present the whole time until she felt another hand helping with her hair. hyein's eyes travelled upwards from the person's chest to his face, her eyes widen slightly at seeing how close guanlin's face was

after he was done with tidying her hair, guanlin gently patted her head and looks down to give her a smile.

"don't forget to cheer for me as well since i'm going to score more than 15 today"

hyein silently snorts at his words before nodding her head and lightly pushed guanlin away from her,

"we'll see about that"

"and that was another 3-point for neo high from the superstar player of today's match, lai guanlin!!"

hyein's mouth was gaped slightly at seeing guanlin's performance today, she bit her bottom lip as the uneasiness grew larger inside of her. she regrets a bit that she didn't ask what's his wish but that didn't matter until she keeps seeing guanlin scoring points every 5 minutes.

'he might actually win the bet..'

even though the adrenaline scares her, she still feels the excitement from the cheers around her which led her unable to look away from the match. for a split second, hyein and guanlin made eye contact - the male gave her a smug grin as his fingers showed the number '7' in meaning that he still has 7 more points to go

hyein slightly shook her head before looking down at her notes and write another point for guanlin. their coach asked hyein to write a list of who are the ones that scored - at what time and round, who did a foul, and etc.

"hmm.. chenle's a bit off today.." her eyes scan the list and was surprised to see a small amount of points under his name

hyein pursed her lips as she stands up to get a clear view of the match. her eyes traveled to each boy on the court until it finally landed on chenle who was on their side of the court, waiting for a pass from his teammate

hyein's eyes kept following him as he successfully received a pass and dribbled it across the court into the opponent's basket. chenle noticed that he got to close with the net for a 2 point so he got himself into a lay out position.

he threw the ball towards the basket and it was already close to fall inside until one of the opponent was quick enough to block it and made it his ball.

hyein became worried when he saw chenle had a frustrated look on his face but still ran back towards his side of the court. his feet was quick enough to got him close to the basket so he could block the shot.

hyein winced when she saw the ball was almost close into falling in the basket due to chenle's sloppy block but thankfully enough, it didn't and fell onto sanha's hands.

hyein sighed in relief but became worried again at seeing chenle's state

"don't forget to cheer for me later"

remembering those words made an idea appear in hyein's mind so she placed the board on the bench and prepared herself for the next words she's going to say.

hyein cleared her throat repeatedly before cupping her mouth with both of her hands and shouted on top of her lungs,

"YOU CAN DO IT CHEN-"

"ZHONG CHENLE HWAITING!!"
