Relief
Joy
Peace
Those were all things I should have felt once I was free, but I didn't feel that way. Something different took over my body. It was the last thing I would ever except from that situation.
Emptiness
I felt so empty. Like a part of me had just been ripped from me.
"Ha, ha," escaped my mouth. Soon it turned into a full on laughter.
"What the hell is wrong with me?! I must still be in shock!" I walked over to my bed and flung my body onto it. I starred up at the ceiling.
"Yeah that's it, I'm still shocked. I just need a few days, then I'll be back to normal." Since it was night time, I figured I should try to sleep. I closed my eyes, but for some reason found no sleep through the whole night.
A week later
I sat on my bed, staring out the window. Gripping the cross necklaces around my neck. My eyes wore huge black circles under them. The past week I haven't slept very much, or eaten very much for that matter.
It was a cloud and grey day outside. I watched as rain drops slowly began to hit the window. A few minutes later I received a text on my phone. It was from my friend at work, Jenna.
Hey where are you? Are you coming to work today.
I stared at the message for a few minutes. Partly for not knowing what to say, but more just not wanting to answer all together. I didn't tell anyone about what happened. I just said there was a family emergency that I had leave for on short notice. After a while I decided it was best to answer.
Hey, sorry I'm not coming into work today. Could you let the boss know please?
Really y/n? You haven't come into work all week. We need you here
I'm sorry I just haven't been feeling well. I'll see if I can go in tomorrow .
Well okay, hope you feel better <3
Thank you, I'll keep in touch
I was lying through my teeth. I wasn't sick, nor was I gonna go into work the next day. I didn't care though. I just needed excuses to stay at home. I didn't want people to see me like this and worry. I had enough to deal with already.
I also just lost all motivation to do anything. I felt lost. I felt alone. I felt, broken. Maybe I should go and sit out on the porch. The rain might help clear my mind.
Chrollo's pov
I've been using one of my stolen nen abilities to keep an eye on y/n the past week. I can see all around her house through my eyes, but I can only see the outside of it.
Y/n hasn't left her house all week. I was started to get very worried.
"Hey boss you still watching that girl?" Shalnark asked. I didn't turn to look at him. I just have him a small nod.
"Has she left her house yet?" He asked again.
"No she hasn't." I said with a sour tone. Trying to tell him that this conversation was over. I sensed movement coming from y/n's house. I quickly looked back at it in hopes of seeing her. What I saw broke my heart.
I saw y/n sitting on her porch. She looked as pale as a ghost, and she had huge bags under her eyes. She looked as if she was 10 pounds lighter. She seemed so...broken. My eyes watered at the sight I was seeing, but I quickly blinked them away. Not wanting to let the other members of the troupe see.
I watched her hug her knees to her chest. She only wore a t-shirt and shorts. She must have been freezing. Then I heard her voice.
"Chrollo, I'm not sure if you can here me or not, but I need to tell you this. I don't know what happened, but I've changed. I can't keep living like this. I've barely slept or ate the past week. I feel like I can't do anything anymore. So," she paused. I watched as the tears rolled down her face. "Please, come back. I need you."
Her voice didn't sound soft and caring anymore. It was so hurt and sad. She pushed her face into her knees. Seconds later the rain shifting directions. Although she was under the protection of her porch, the rain angled in and started hitting her. She didn't move however. I watched as her hair and cloths became drenched in the matter of a few seconds.
I shut off my nen. She disappeared from my vision. Without a word I ran for the door.
"Hey boss what are you doing?" Phinks yelled out to me. I didn't answer, I just kept running out into the rain. The rain pounded down harder and harder as I ran. That didn't stop me however. I kept running and running. Until I reached my destination.
