Chapter 13

JIEUN

"Hey sis, let's go now." Jihyun unnie said. I nodded and arranged my things before following my older sister out of the room.

"Hey," My older sister called, "Do you know Seventeen? And Nu'est?" Her question made me grin.

"Of course! I like Seventeen!" I said but she gave me a straight face as a response. "I do know Nu'est but I don't like them that much. I just know all of them and I like their songs too." She just nodded and continued walking.

"What did you do when you got here?" She asked. Ha.

"Well," I walked faster to reach her pace and smiled. "I attended their concert. Seventeen's concert. I bought a VIP ticket."

She stopped on her tracks and looked at me, "That VIP ticket cost a fortune, right?" She asked so I nodded. "Woah, Where did you get that much money?"

Is this really my sister? Isn't she aware that I'm saving money since then? "I saved a lot of money back then in LA." She nodded and continued walking.

We reached home in complete silence. Not an awkward silence but a comfortable one. I opened the door to my room and laid down in my bed. I missed bed.

I was feeling light-headed and before I knew it, I drifted to sleep.

It was 11:15 when I woke up. I remembered my older sister's work time, 10AM. I had a great sleep, Didn't I?

I did my morning routine and ate the pancakes Jihyun unnie cooked before she left. In the middle of eating, my phone rang suddenly. I picked it up and putted it on my ear.

"Hello?"

"Is this Ms. Kang Jieun?"

"Speaking."

"Good afternoon, Ms. Kang. Your interview yesterday went well, and I'm proud to announce that you passed the interview to be a manager. Thank you for coming in to meet with us! We very much appreciate it and look forward to meet with you tomorrow at the Pledis Entertainment."

I felt numb all of the sudden. What? I??? Passed???

"Thank you and you're welcome. What time should I go tomorrow?"

"Its depends on you, Ms. Kang. But the CEO would like it if you start as soon as possible. Are you aware what group you will manage?"

"No. No one told me what group I'll be managing."

"Very well, you're gonna manage the group called Seventeen."

MINGYU

"Hyung, hyung!"

I turned around and saw Seungkwan. He was running to us and abruptly stopped when he was infront of us.

"What is it? And why are you running?" S.coups hyung asked.

Seungkwan raised her hand and shaked it. We were confused of his actions.

"I heard," He breathed out. "CEO-nim already found a manager for us." He continued and looked at us.

Silence.

"Uhm?" Myungho broke the silence. "What's the matter with CEO-nim picking a manager for us?" He continued and Seungkwan puffed air.

"It's a girl."

"What? You're pregnant?" We facepalmed at Jun hyung's question.

"This hyung is very dumb." Seungkwan uttered. "I meant our manager is a girl." Jun hyung did an 'oooh' and nodded.

"So? What's the matter with our new manager being a girl? Some of our managers are girl." Myungho pointed out.

"Well yeah, but.." He looked down. "Nevermind." He raised his head again.

"Oh.. Okay. Let's start the practice." S.coups hyung said and we went to our positions.

I wonder why Seungkwan's reaction is like that.

JIEUN

I was in my bed the whole afternoon and only stand up when I feel hunger.

I was thinking a lot that sometimes I feel myself all giddy. I mean, Hello? I'm going to be Seventeen's manager starting tomorrow.

I should feel happy but I felt a bit of discomfort. They knew me as a fan and if they found out that im their manager, they would think im a stalker or worst, a sasaeng. It's not my fault, my sister pushed me inside.

I continued listening to Seventeen songs and just kept my eyes close. I can't even handle five people, let alone thirteen chaotic boys. I signed up and interviewed and passed so I should do my work properly. Right, I should work professionaly. It's enough for me to see them in a concert, it really is. I know that I'm just a fan, just a fan who loves them dearly and support them. There's no way I'll be more than a fan.

"Together, we sing a beautiful song again until the day comes.

This road towards you won't end until those sadness will be gone." I sang to my heart's content. Right, there's no way I'll surpass the status of being a fan.
