"Keith! Keith!" a baritone whispered.

"Is he dead?"

"No! He is unconscious!" he replied. "Keith!"

Keith's lashes batted. He was now conscious of his environment. He pushed himself up and blinked.

"Mate!" Drake exclaimed.

"Keith! I'm so glad you are okay!" Cassie gave him a quick hug.

Keith nodded. He rose to his feet but winced when he felt an unusual pain. He bent and rolled his trouser to his knee. He looked at the cut and sighed.

"Where is that Mira?" Keith snarled.

"I'm here! What do you want?" Mira walked towards them. They were at the side of the river and the water flowed, slamming itself on rocks. The sun was about to say goodbye so the sky was yellowish as it set.

Keith pinched the bridge of his nose and inhaled twice.

"You need to stop this!"

"Stop what?" she asked in a brusque tone.

"This attitude of yours, you need to stop it!" Keith moved and stopped at her front. His tall figure towered her. "Why are you in this competition?"

"For the money!"

"Exactly! You need it urgently, right?" Keith glanced at the others. "So do we! We all need that money".

"But none of you take this competition seriously!" she snapped.

"That's what you think!" He frowned. "I won't let you break this team".

"And I won't allow you to make us lose!" she hissed. "I am the leader of this team!"

"No way!" Cassie barged in. "I want Keith to be the leader!"

"Me too!" Drake added.

"Hey!" Mira fumed. "I know I have a little anger issue but I am a great leader!"

"Sorry but we don't agree with you!" Drake said and shook his head.

"You have a lot of psychological issues, woman!" Cassie sneered.

"Cassie!" Mira narrowed her eyes. "Keith, did you hear what she just said? Cassie wants a fight and she will get it!"

"Wait! Please! I am tired. I won't tolerate anyone fighting! And yeah..." he placed his hand on Mira's shoulder. "I'm the new leader. It would be better if you just work peacefully with us. When we win, you can fight whomever you wish!"

Mira glared at Cassie and muttered, "I know a certain blonde I would like to fight!"

Keith glanced at Cassie, the blonde-haired woman and shook his head.

"I just can't understand you, Mira!" Keith whispered.

Later that night, Keith lay on the uncomfortable leaves on the hard ground. He sighed when he couldn't get a wink of sleep. A fire fly rested on his hand and his breathe hitched as he watched it crawl to his arm.

What a beautiful creature! Haha! Its butt is glowing!

It flew away and Keith crawled out of the little shelter he had made. It was a leaf hut made up of pine needles, branches and barks. He had made it for each of his teammates.

Being that he was adventurous, camping and fishing were one of his favorite activities. Keith could never understand why his family hated adventures and animals. When he was little, he had begged to have a pet but they never allowed.
