"I'll explain everything later. But first, we're taking a trip down memory lane." Frank said as he drove away from the house.
"You just threatened to expose an innocent man! You better do some godamn explaining!" Y/N hesitantly put her seatbelt on, knowing how fast Frank drove.
"Now's not the time to scold me." Frank gritted his teeth as he went way past the speed limit.
"You're going to get pulled over! Are you drunk?" Y/N clutched onto the seat.
"No I'm not drunk. We're not getting pulled over." Frank swerved into the city.
Y/N remained still and quiet. Her heart pounded out of her chest. She had never seen Frank like this.
He drove all the way downtown. The narrow roads and complicated turns made Y/N nauseous.
Frank turned into a full restaurant. The lights were off and there was no sign of any human interaction.
Frank parked in front of the restaurant and stood in front of it. He pulled out a briefcase and put on his mask.
Y/N got out of the car and memories flooded back to her.
They were standing in front of Mully's diner.
Frank opened the door and Y/N followed along. The bells of the door chimed.
Tricky, Jake, Yutani, and Fresh we're all sitting in the booth they usually say at. Their eyes were red and puffy and their mood was depressing. Their faces lost joy and the restaurant lost its usual warmth and turned cold.
"Sorry. We're closed today, come again la-" Jake stopped mid-sentence and looked up.
He met Y/N's eyes and smiled. He got up but quickly sat back down when he saw Frank right beside her.
Jake frowned again.
The rest of the group turned and looked at Y/N, softly smiling.
Jake broke the silence.
"What do you want?" Jake shot at Frank.
"I want to talk to you guys." Frank responded calmly. Y/N stood behind him, looking down at the broken floor tiles.
"We're not talking to a murderer." Tricky stood up and faced Frank. She crossed her arms and wiped her tears.
"For the last time, I did not kill Mully. You heard the whole conversation. Y/N's psychotic dad did." Frank said, still unbothered.
Their eyes widened and they averted their attention back to Y/N who was just as shocked as they were.
"Listen. I have a lot of explaining to do. It's either you listen or face consequences." Frank was oddly joyful.
They gave in and sat back down. Frank went to shut all of the blinds and lock the doors. He checked the place for any hidden cameras or mics.
Frank sat down in front of Jake. Y/N sat beside Frank. They were all squished into one booth.
"Alright. Do your explaining." Fresh kicked up his legs. Y/N noticed that his 'kicks' were dirty. That was very unlikely.
Frank pulled out a large yellow-brown envelope from his briefcase. He took out a photograph and slid it on the table so that everyone could see.
It was a photograph of a man sitting at a table. He had a large scar across his face. He had the same crimson red eyes as Frank. He had Y/H/C hair that was slicked back.
"This here is Dimitri L/N. Y/N's father. He's the one that killed Mully. He is the most dangerous criminal ever. I reckon you are familiar with him Tricky." Frank sat back, letting them see the photograph more clearly.
Tricky gulped. She turned pale.
"That's the man that came into our house 3 years ago." Tricky said softly.
Suddenly, everything made sense.
~(Flashback)~
"Oh really? Who let a dangerous man into their house knowing fully well that they were a criminal? I know what you do for a job Robert and I could easily let your innocent little daughter know that you're a two-faced little liar so cut the shit."
~(End flashback)~
Frank said that just an hour ago. Robert let Dimitri in his house.
"Dimitri is your dad's boss." Frank exhaled. Tricky gasped.
"My dad would never work for a criminal." Tricky stood up again.
"There are a lot of things you don't know about your father." Frank fixed his collar.
"Like what?" Tricky sat back down again, intrigued about what Frank had to say.
"Let me start from the beginning. When your father got fired three years ago, he went bankrupt. But knowing he had a teenage daughter and an arrogant wife, he had to do something to keep his family abundant. He met a man. Dimitri. He invited him into his house for a friendly little talk." Frank stopped to see if everyone was paying attention.
"Dimitri offered him a job. But since your father is so gullible, he accepted the job thinking that it was harmless. Dimitri offered him the job of being a hit-man. He was desperate and didn't care of the cost. But being a hit-man also ties in with the Italian Mafia. Once you accept the job, you can't back out." Frank inhaled deeply.
"What do you mean you can't back out?" Yutani was now curious.
"If you back out, you get blackmailed. And if that doesn't work, they kill you." Frank strained to say it.
"You're telling me that my father is a criminal too? Oh my god." Tricky panicked.
"How does this relate to anything?" Jake asked.
"What I need you to know is to not trust anyone. You guys are being watched by the government. They are manipulating you guys." Frank struggled to say this.
"I thought we hated each other. Why are you helping us?." Jake rolled his eyes.
"I still hate all of you but right now, there are three sides: My side, the Neutrals, and Dimitri's side. You guys are the Neutrals and Y/N and I are on my side." Frank explained.
Fresh snickered.
"So there's no bad side?" Fresh asked.
"Well... No." Frank admitted.
"We need time to process this. We're leaving." Tricky got up and left along with Fresh and Yutani. Frank got his stuff and lifted up the blinds. He left without another word.
It was just Y/N and Jake.
Jake walked up to Y/N and hugged her. Her legs went limp.
"I'm sorry I got you into this-" Y/N mumbled.
Jake leaned in and kissed her.
Frank saw the whole thing happen.
A/N. Haha. Yeah you're stuck in a love triangle. I hope this chapter explained everything cause let's be honest, this book feels like a fever dream.
