The waiter brought a huge bowl of ice cream, which was mixed with a lot of sweet stuff like gummy bears, cookies and chocolate. Mark watched how fast Donghyuck ate it, stuffing his mouth that he barely talked. From time to time, Mark stopped the younger boy, so he won't get his throat sore.

"Do you feel any better?"

"Yeah," Donghyuck said it so casually, though he was lying. In reality, he wanted to ask why did Mark bring him here. He skipped the classes and wasn't a good student who needed to be rewarded after busy hours. He spent them all in the bathroom, crying his eyes rather than studying.

"Good, because there's a lot of things that are still waiting ahead," Mark smiled and wiped ice cream off Donghyuck's mouth with so much care the boy felt bad for what he will do next.

The alpha seemed very excited, he was smiling like an idiot the whole time. Donghyuck felt really bad that he couldn't give the boy back the same honest smile. He was a mess inside, he had a lot on his mind. Anxiety, fear and guilt occupied a big part of his thoughts and Donghyuck often spaced out, hardly giving any attention to Mark.

"About that..." Donghyuck showed an apologetic smile, trying his best to not hurt the friend. "Maybe we could do that tomorrow? I feel tired today."

Donghyuck felt like a knife just stabbed his heart and sliced it into two halves. It was painful to endure. Mark was bad at hiding his emotions sometimes and it wasn't an exception this time either. He was upset. His shoulders went down, completely destroying the picture of proud alpha with a good posture - his back wasn't straight anymore, his shoulders were slouched. Mark's smile was replaced by a thin line of his lips and Donghyuck knew that he just ruined his plans.

"I'm sorry," Donghyuck murmured after he saw how it affected Mark.

"No, don't be. I was overexcited about all of this that I forgot how tired you can be," Mark showed off a smile, attempting to hide how sad he felt. Although technically it was a smile, Donghyuck didn't feel like he was seeing one. Mark looked like he was forced to smile, which was actually true.

"We can do a lot of things tomorrow. I promise," Donghyuck desperately tried to fix the situation and see Mark smiling again. "Don't be sad," Donghyuck put his hand on top of Mark's.

"It's okay, I'm not sad. Your mood and condition you are in right now are the most important," Mark smiled, this time naturally, as he rubbed his finger on Donghyuck's palm.

"W-what condition?" the boy suddenly felt anxious. He even tensed in a spot. Mark probably felt how tensed his hand was.

"Your pre-heat."

"Ah... y-yes... It is."

They finished the desert together and Mark bought some pastries for Donghyuck to carry home. All that time the omega attempted to raise the mood between them so that it wouldn't drop again. He was the biggest sweetheart, paying off all those days when he was grumpy and picked on Mark. The alpha seemed to fall for the act pretty well and Donghyuck managed to bring their friendship back to normal again.

When they decided to leave the mall, Donghyuck saw a pharmacy store on the corner. For as long as he remembered, those stores sold everything, from vitamins to protection. He looked up at Mark, who was talking about how well he wrote the test, and then back at the store.

"Could you wait here for a minute?" he stopped which caused Mark to stop talking as well. "I need to go there really quickly."

"Oh, I can accompany you. I know how hard it is to search for medicine. The staff doesn't help much too."

Donghyuck felt small droplets of sweat forming on his forehead when Mark looked at him with that friendly expression, genuinely ready to help. It caused Donghyuck to feel a rush of anxiety. He needed to get rid of Mark. He didn't want his friend to see what he thought of buying.
