Ayako yawned as she settled into her seat. She spent all night studying for the new topic they learned. As the teacher passed out the tests, Ayako tried to keep her eyes open.

Lazily filling in the blanks, Tsukishima couldn't help but notice how sluggish her movements were. Her head was nodding off from time to time, almost hitting her desk before she jolted herself back.

Shaking his head, he finished the quiz early and turned the paper over, so that no one could see the answers. He tapped Ayako on the shoulder and handed her some earbuds.

Confused, she put them on and instantly knew what he was doing. She turned around and gave him a small smile before mouthing a 'thank you' to him, in which he nodded.

Thankfully Ayako finished the test without sleeping. She turned around and handed back Tsukishima's earbuds, thanking him again before resting her head on top of her arms.

She stared out the window, looking at one of the windows in the 3rd year building. She knew Hinata and Kageyama were going to go convince Asahi to come back.

I wonder how it's going...

"Oi, Bakageyama! One more toss!"

"Alright, Shut up! I get it! Ready?"

Kageyama set the ball, making Hinata swiftly run into position and slam the ball to the other side of the court, a satisfying thud following after.

Ayako shook her head. She was always confused on how they get along so well but always bicker and fight. She wrote down a few more notes in her journal before trying to muffle a yawn, but failed to do so.

Ok.. Maybe I shouldn't have stayed up too late.. I can barely concentrate.. Maybe one quick nap wouldn't hur....

Ayako fell asleep, her hand slowly losing it's grip on the blue journal. Her head hung low, making her bangs cover her face.

She woke up when she heard Takeda Sensei shout. Lazily lifting her head, she noticed a familiar man standing next to the teacher.

Isn't that the man who runs the Sakanoshita Store? The store we always pass by after practice?

She stood up, leaning against Nishinoya, who was trying to keep his composure. He pat her on the head a few times before listening to Takeda Sensei.

"Alright, this will be your new coach everyone!"

"C-Coach? Are you serious? What about Ayako?"

Everyone turned their attention to the sleepy girl who was leaning against Nishinoya. She sleepily looked up at the new coach. She waved the situation off, yawning.

"I-Its okay.. I'm an a-amateur coach anyway."

She gave everyone a small smile who hesitantly respected her decision. Ayako was always the one who helped coach them a bit when they had no one, and yet her spot was being taken away.

She turned to the new coach, looking up at him.

"I-I can be the A-Assistant, right?"

He nodded. Takeda Sensei smiled, explaining who the new coach was. Ayako leaned her head against Nishinoya again and started to doze off.
