The next morning, Geoun's early alarm went off, but she was tired from her late night before. Memories of the studio and Chan's friends came to mind. Then the memory of kissing his cheek. She blushed intensely and pulled her pillow on her face as she screamed into it.
"Did I really do that?" Geoun turned and grabbed her phone, no notifications.
She sighed and got out of bed and repeated her routine from the morning before. After dressing down in some shorts and a t-shirt, she grabbed her book bag and left for the practice room.
She had her headphones in as she waited for the shuttle, and jumped when she felt someone tap her.
"Ah! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you," Geoun turned around and saw Chan laughing.
"Ahh don't laugh!" Geoun pouted and stamped her foot which just made Chan smile and laugh even more.
Damn how can she be this cute, Chan finally stopped laughing and coughed to gain his composure.
"Why are you even up this early?" Geoun sat on the shuttle stop's bench.
"I decided to get an early start on my next song. Well, not MY song. More like my part of the song. Changbin, Jisung, and I are doing like an 'origin story' type of thing." As Chan finished speaking the shuttle had arrived and the two stepped on and sat down together.
"Really? Oh that's so cool! It's like. An intro to the group? Wait are you guys an actual group?"
"Not officially. But we've been thinking about it. We pretty much are. We've just never performed together or anything."
"Still, that's super cool Chan," Geoun smiled at the older boy just as the rising sun shined through the window and hit her eyes, making the green flecks of color among the sea of brown pop.
Chan was going to say something but was so awestruck at Geoun's natural beauty that he lost his voice.
"We're here," Geoun's voice brought Chan back to reality and he walked out of the bus with Geoun.
The two walked in a comfortable silence to the music department and scanned in and started for the stairs to the practice rooms.
"Wait! I forgot my violin," Geoun giggled and started to head down the stairs.
"Hey!"
Chan's voice caused Geoun to turn around and give him a questioning look.
"Uh, maybe you could come help me with my music? I mean class starts in 30 minutes, and you'd spend a lot of time getting your violin and unpacking and stuff." Chan's cheeks were slowly turning red.
"I'd like that actually," Geoun smiled at Chan as she climbed back up the stairs and he led her to a practice room.
"So your origin story right? Tell me your story," Geoun sat down on the piano bench in the room and Chan sat next to her, so close that their arms were touching. (piano benches are small)
"Um, I guess it'd start when my family left Australia. We moved here so my dad could join his brother and run their family's business. But I've always been into music. Writing, singing, rapping, playing. Anything. It was my comfort, still is."
"Comfort from what? Anything in particular?" Geoun leaned on the piano and looked up at Chan.
"Uh, yeah," Chan gave a dry laugh. "Something bad happened to my sister. She was my musical influence, and after it happened, after we lost her, music is the only way I feel close to her. She was the only one besides my mom who ever cheered me on. And I feel like when I make music, she's smiling down on me. So I want to do that as often as I can. It makes me feel like she's still with me. Not to mention, my musical career has led me to meet some of the most amazing people. Jackson has been my friend since I moved here, and Changbin and Jisung have become two of my closest friends, and there's nothing I wouldn't do for my friends."
