Chapter 18: Mike

Lauren's  pov

"I was around nine or ten" I let of a humorlessly laugh and added "don't even remember quite frankly because so much time has passed but the pain is still so much alive "I looked at her and an involuntary tear dropped from my left eye which I hastily whipped away

"anyway, my childhood was really beautiful a loving parents who thought me so many things about love, I know you might be thinking  what can I even learn of love that age and you might also be right because everything my father did for us, at the end of the day was all a fake and you know what that's one of the reason why I am so close with your dad because, he takes care of you, he loves you like the princess you are, he can kill anyone just to keep you save in simple words he is the true definition of a father so there is no way I can ever be mad at such a wonderful person

"did your father cheat?"

"he did, not once but he created a whole another family and when my mom got to know he blamed all on money and....."

"me!"

"why? "she asked kinda confused

I took deep breath because all the memories are coming back like it's a racing competition making it harder for me to even keep going

FLASHBACK

"why Mike? WHY" mom asked dad bowling her eyes out

She added "wasn't I enough? What was missing? We had everything! EVERY FREAKING THING THAT anyone can ask for, so WHY MIKE? WHY?" the crying face of my mother was killing me inside 

I wanted to go and comfort her but the door was locked and I was able to follow them only by their conversation sounds and by looking at their bedroom window

"I am man CLARA I need more"

"so, you think this is a plausible answer to why you cheated?" As much as I know my father 

He was guilty 

And he knew it

"that's not all Clara, I miss my old life when I used to have everything just by clapping my hands but marrying you had a lot of consequences that I never thought until I came face to face with the reality, I hate waking up and go to some underpaid jobs which I don't like and still have to do it FOR YOU GUYS oh and I still don't understand IF MY SON IS ACTUALLY MY SON OR MY DAUGHTER ..........I am tired Clara I really am"

"I am not mike? Am I not going to work too, that work which I hate but still do it and I even take care of our baby and the house but am I complaining? Am I cheating on you? The answer is NO" she yelled at last

"AND also, if you want to leave us leave the door is open but DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE TO PUT OUR CHILD IN THE MIDDLE" so I am the reason 

But what did I do?

"THAT'S THE TRUTH CLARA OUR CHILD IS A FREAK" he said in total anger as soon as he finished it my mom slapped him, he looked shook at first but the tears wear visible on his eyes but he quickly whipped them away

My mom put her on her mouth totally shocked

Somehow after hearing this also my heart just broke by my own father

I heard the door unlock and I quickly run to my mom

I whipped her tears which were constantly falling while my father was packing is belongings 

"don't cry mama "I said but at this point I was crying too then I heard my father calling my name

"Laur, I love you "he said getting kneeled in front of me and then hugged me, I didn't push him away but I said something which made him cry

"I DON'T, I HATE YOU" I said looking in his eyes which by now was full of tears

"it's ok but I 'll always love you Laurenzo my little boy, take care of your mother give her the love she deserves, find her a better man than a monster like me, that's the only thing I am ever going to ask from you because that's the last you are ever gonna see me my boy "I pushed him away and run 

END OF FLASHBACK

Little did I knew, I run towards my destiny 

I run to Camila

"so, what happened?" Camila asked waking me up from my thoughts

"he left us for his new family because to him we are just a burden and when my mom shoved the reality to his face, he said something about me which angered my mom and she end up slapping him and that was the last day I saw him and I'm thankful for that, he gave us a lot of pain and most importantly he heart my mom "

"you love your mom a lot huh"

"I do she took care of me by all herself, she gave me the world and now I'm gonna do the same for her and not only that she also thought me how to be a good human, how to not break promises"

"that's why our vows are so important to you"

"yeah part of it, look my father took vows but he broke them and I'm gonna do the same, till you are my wife I'm gonna take care of you and love you more than anyone could ever"

"LoVE?" she asked shocked I looked at her shocked at what I said

"look you don't need to love me"

"well it's not like it depend on me"

"so, you are telling me you love me?"

"am I?"

"I don't know, are you??" she asked impatiently "and why would you,there is no such good thing about me "she said slowly and quietly the last part

Only if I could say all the things my heart is dying to  say

"laur-" she was about to say something but they announced we are ready to leave which kinda saved me from this awkward situation so I'm really thankful
