"does this taste okay?" camren marie west asked her best friend, salem uriah george. the two worked at a bakery, and camren owned it.

"i think it's a little salty." salem told her friend, after sticking a finger into the cupcake batter, and then her mouth. camren was trying out a new cupcake recipe, for salted caramel cupcakes.

camren added a bit of sugar to the mix, and stirred it up. she, also, stuck her finger in the batter, and now it tasted much better. she began to scoup the light colored mixture into cupcake liners, that were placed in a muffin tin. the bell on the door rang, signaling that a customer had come in.

"can you finish this up for me, lemmy?" camren asked and wiped her hands on a towel. salem nodded and hopped down from the bakery counter.

"hi cam." the customer, who happened to be corbyn matthew besson, of the band 'why don't we', and camren's best friend, smiled.

"hi corbs." she smiled back and the two did their handshake. corbyn and camren had been best friends for forever, and they moved to los angeles together. camren started a bakery, and corbyn became part of a band.

corbyn had the biggest crush on his female friend, and little did he know, camren had the same feelings for him. the two were just too nervous to admit them.

"what are you working on back there?" he asked, as he smelled the cupcakes.

"salted caramel cupcakes!" camren grinned and grabbed corbyn's hand. she led him back to the kitchen, to taste the batter.

"mm, that's good." corbyn nodded and started to stick his finger back in for another taste of the batter.

"hey! no! that's gross!" salem smacked his hand away from the bowl.

"nice to see you too, lem." he chuckled and washed his hands in the sink with soap for twenty seconds, bakery rules. salem scowled and continued to pour batter into the tins.

camren emerged from the where she was in the huge fridge. she came out with a takeaway box, that held the chocolate cake corbyn had ordered. it was his band mate's, jonah's, twenty second birthday.

"here you are, sir." she joked and handed him the box.

"thank you ma'am." corbyn laughed and did a proper bow. he dug in the back pocket of his black ripped jeans, finding his wallet. he got it out, and pulled out two twenty's.

"oh nope you're not paying." camren shook her head and crossed her arms.

"i'm going to pay." the boy rolled his eyes and tried to force the money into her closed hand.

"as long as i'm invited to the party, you're not paying."

"but you already got the invitation." corbyn spoke, his eyebrows furrowed.

"exactly." camren laughed and started to push him out. "now get out before you break a law or something."

"you're impossible." corbyn rolled his eyes again, but opened the bakery door. "bye lemmy!"

"bye corbyn!" salem called back and then the boy disappeared into the la streets. camren stood there watching his as long as he could, and didn't hear her friend come out from the kitchen and to the front counter. "why don't you just tell him already?"

"because, he doesn't feel the same way."
