Epilogue

Byakuya's POV

Eight years. Eight years since I started dating Makoto. Eight years of being a loving boyfriend to my special lucky boy.

Surprisingly, my father didn't mind me being gay.
"As long as you can still run the company," he told me.

Today was the day. The one day I'd been waiting for.

I met Makoto in a small, quiet park with beautiful cherry blossom trees.
"This is such a pretty spot, Kuya," Makoto said, clinging to my hand.
"Yes. A perfect spot for a perfect date," I said, smiling.
We ate some fresh sushi my cooks had prepared, cherry blossoms floating around us. We talked about life, what we'd been doing lately, things like that.

Soon, hours had passed. We both stood up.
"Ah, well, it's time for us to leave," I said, my heart pounding. "But first, one more thing."
He tilted his head in confusion. "What is it, Kuya?"

I took his hands in mine.
"Makoto, you have been an amazing boyfriend. You take care of me, you're kind, you're sweet, everything a person could want. Not to mention very cute."

He giggled at that.

"I love you so so much. I don't know what I could do without you. I want to stay with you forever and ever," I continued.

I reached into my pocket and Makoto's eyes widened.
I knelt down as I opened the black velvet box to reveal a shiny ring.

"Makoto Naegi, will you marry me?"

Tears streamed down his face, and he enveloped me in a big hug.
"Yes yes yes, I love you so much Byakuya," he sniffled happily.
We both stood up and I slid the ring onto his finger.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and grinned.
I leaned down and shared a passionate kiss with him.

Now this was the best thing that had ever happened to me.

Makoto Naegi, just an average boy, had stumbled into my life all those years ago. And I was so glad he did.
