Exactly three weeks from now, the classes at St. Mary's U will start again. For the whole vacation, all I did was to hang out with my friends, redecorate my room, tea sessions with Halmoni and have dates with Vernon.
Today, I went to the mall alone to buy some stuffs I'll be needing for school and personal hygiene.
Pag uwi ko naman sa bahay ay may nakita akong isang familiar na kotse na naka-park malapit sa fountain.
I checked the time on my wrist watch, and it says 2 in the afternoon.
As I entered the house, I heard laughter and giggles coming from the living room.
"Kuya, come on! Last one na, please?" That was Vienne's pleading voice.
"Don't be a KJ, Kuya!" nagrereklamong boses ni Billy.
Nilingon ko ang sala at nakita sa puting sofa sila Vienne, Billy at Vernon. They are playing Uno Cards that is placed at the center table. Hindi ko alam kung anong ginagawa nila sa laro na 'yon, pero nakita kong malapit na mapuno ng puro guhit galing sa lipstick ang mukha ni Vernon.
Samantala, kaunti lang ang meron sa mukha nila Vienne.
Inilapag ko muna sa gilid ang paperbags na hawak, bago lumapit sa kanila.
"Hi, Ate's home na." bati ko sa kanila Vienne at hinalikan ang pisngi nila.
"Ate!" My cousins stood up from the sofa. They hugged my legs and laughed. "Look at Kuya Venon's face!" Billy said, pointing his cute finger at Vernon.
He was sitting there at the single sofa while pouting his lips.
"Baby," ngumuso siya, mukhang nagpapatulong dahil pinagkaisahan ng dalawa kong pinsan.
"What happened to him?" medyo natatawa kong tanong sa mga pinsan ko.
"We defeated Kuya." Vienne whispered to me. Bumungisngis siya.
"Kasi we have a rule Ate, na pag natalo we will put a lipstick to the face." Billy explained. Him and Vienne did a high five while playfully grinning.
"Weak ba si Kuya Vernon?" I asked my cousins while trying to hide a smile.
I was kinda surprised when I didn't notice that Vernon already stood up. "I just let them win." He encircled his arms around my waist.
"Talaga ba?"
He just nodded his head like a kid.
I removed his hands from me and faced him. "Tara sa kusina, tanggalin na natin yan."
Hawak ko na ang kamay ni Vernon at masunuring nagpahila siya sa'kin papuntang kusina, pero muntik ko nang makalimutan tanungin sila Vienne.
Nilingon ko pabalik silang dalawa na busy ulit maglaro ng cards. "Are you guys done playing na? Para burahin na ni Kuya ang lipstick."
"Done na, Ate!" sagot ni Vienne.
Nagsalita rin si Billy. "Kuya, lets play Uno cards again next time ha!" pagyaya niya sabay tumawa silang dalawa.
Pag tingin ko kay Vernon ay nangiti na lang siya habang naiiling.
Holding his hand, I dragged him towards our kitchen. I opened the cupboard and brought out a pack of tissue.
