The rest of the year went smoothly, after a scolding for leaving without contacting anyone that is. I smiled as I watched the people trickle onto the train. Then I spotted Draco. I pulled him aside,
"Hey man," I said,
"Hey!" He said, "I'm sorry about all that by the way, I guess you got to get worse before you get better," I breathed a disappointed sigh and collected him into a hug.
"I'm not returning next year, so listen to me, be yourself, and stop pretending to be something your not," I released him and walked away, looking for... ah there they were
"GUYS!" I called. They turned to look at me,
"Hey Percy, you excited for summer?" Harry asked. I smiled.
"I came over to tell you... I'm not coming back next year." I said, they all gaped at me,
"Wh-why not?" Harry stuttered.
"This isn't my fight," I said nicely as I could, Hermione gapped at me
"So wh-what you just going to run?" Ron stuttered. I forced my smile to stay on my face. Even though I could feel my eyes cracking, letting them see the broken shards of me. I ruffled Ron's hair,
"I am leaving this to you, be strong," I said to the three, Hermione surged forward and hugged me tightly,
"Thank you, I don't know what you did, but I know Dumbledore wouldn't have brought you on for just a year if there wasn't a really good reason," She said sniffling. I patted her head
"It's all right Hermione, it was a nice change of environment."
"Do you have a number? So we can keep in touch?" She asked and I shook my head,
"No phone." I said smiling, I pulled out a DA coin, "You can use this though, just put the longitude, latitude, and date. I'll be there." She smiled. Ron was still glaring at me angrily, so was Harry, although he had a little softer glare,
"Thank you for saving Sirius, I know you destroyed your wand to do it." He said and I chuckled handing over the broken wand.
"You got me, but it wouldn't be very useful to me anyway, I kind of suck at being a wizard," I said, then I spotted Snape,
"I've got to run, I'll see you soon," I said running over to him.
"SNAPE!" I called running up to him. Suddenly he hugged me. I patted him on his back
"I'll miss you too," I mumbled, "Hey do me a favor, promise me that you will come out of this alive, I've already lost too many people," I whispered.
"I swear on River Styx I will live through this," I nodded
"Thank you," He released me,
"I got you something," He said drawing out a bead. I smiled, on it was a wand
"Thank you," I said beading it through my necklace.
"I thought it was appropriate." He said. Snape always teased me about the necklace from camp half-blood.
"Dumbledore?" I asked coming into his office.
"Percy!" He said brightly I smiled, "Thank you for this year, will you be returning?" He asked and I smiled
"That's actually why I'm here, I will not be returning, I need to take care of a few things before," He nodded sadly, "I'm sorry I couldn't stay, but this isn't my war to fight. I wish you good luck," I said and he nodded at me.
"Well might I offer you a ride there? It's the least I could do."
"Please," I said and he smiled and offered his arm. I took it.
