Ch 4 Water Attacks me

When I finally make my way back to the table that Riki's friends sat, another boy had made his way and was sitting next to the brunette

"So this is Lewis, and you'll stay on his couch for your trip," Riki said,

"And this is Bella, Cleo, and Will," She said pointing to the new guy and the other two girls.

"It's nice to meet you," I said politely, then I turned to Lewis,

"I really, don't mind camping out," I said

"Oh, sure! I mean if you-" He started

"Lewis," Cleo cut him off the forced a smile, "Don't be mean to your guest,"

"Look, guys, I really appreciate all this, but I should get going, I'm much more comfortable near the water anyway," I said backing up,

"Then what about my place?" Will piped up, "It's right on the water, I'm a diver so it was convenient, I have a couch," He said, and my lips jerked up,

"Man, you're a diver?" I asked surprised, "What's the furthest you've done?" I asked

"80," He said and I whistled,

"That's great dude," He smiled at me, "You've gotta show me sometime," I said, then I paused, it wasn't like I could just stay under for long without him getting suspicious,

"Sure thing," he shrugged, and I smiled picking up my papers,

"Welp, in the meantime I've gotta work on this mess, the sooner I'm outta here the better," I said standing up, "Er- I mean, uh I didn't mean it like that," I said scratching the back of my neck, I cleared my thought, "Well I'll see you later, and you can show me that place of yours?" I asked

"Sure dude," Will said and I smiled giving him a fist bump and walking away, I'm glad I got to meet such nice people.

After puzzling over the notes for a while I was able to pinpoint the location of the disturbance, it was on Mako island, but what I couldn't puzzle out was where or what, ugh I threw up my hands, I guess it was about time to meet Will, I sighed and picked up the papers, I paused and looked back out to sea,

"What's wrong with you?" I asked softly, before turning around and heading for the Café, I'd just sat down at a booth when a redhead came and approached me,

"I heard you were rooming with my brother," She said sitting down,

"And you would be...?" I asked

"Sophie," She said sticking out a hand which I shook,

"Well I shouldn't be in your way too much, and hopefully I'll wrap up this business soon," I said and Sophie smiled,

"Just so you know Will has a very strict training routine, so don't be surprised if he's not around a lot," She said and I nodded,

"Thanks for the tip," I said and she nodded bonding off,

"Hey man," Will said giving me a fist bump as he sat down across from me,

"Was that my sister," I said and I could feel his eyes,

"Whatever she said was a lie," He said and I smiled,

"What is she said that you have talent," I teased and he groaned rolling his eyes,

"I stand by what I said,"

We met the girls on the dock, and another boy was with them, he introduced himself as Zane and I shook his hand.

"Great! So should we start? Zan has a boat too so we should all fit," Lucas said I nodded

"Hey, thanks man for doing this," I said getting into his boat, after Lucas helped Chloe in he took off,

"So why are you up here?" He asked

"I'm doing a favor for my dad, he said something was off here, but he's busy with his job so he asked me to look into it," I explained, leaving out that my dad was the god of the sea. I stuck my hand in the rushing water, strength pulsed through me. I smiled at the feeling and took my hand out of the sea.

"So, your dad's a marine biologist?" Chloe asked and I shrugged

"I guess you can call it that, I just think that he's a bossy over the worker," I said, a wave crashed against the boat, I grinned softly, but Chloe flinched when the water came suddenly, I looked out to Sea. "For the longest time I thought he was lost at sea and I suppose in a way he was, but he couldn't make contact until it was time," I said softly, I smiled down at the fish swimming under the boat. Lucas looked back at me,

"So, I've actually got a lot of charts and information collected about this island so if you need any information, I can check." I thought about it for a minute.

"Well, I guess I don't know exactly what I'm looking for but if it was so important that my dad sent me and not some worker it must be pretty big," I said, they shared a look. They were hiding something, "All I know is that it's on Mako Island, it's dangerous," I said in a warning tone, "So, I really do appreciate you helping me," I said staring him down. He gulped and nodded

"No problem," When we reached the island, I set up camp, not having brought anything I collected stuff from around the island,

"Oh! You're spending the night?" Bella asked, "I thought you were rooming with Will,"

"No this is just a temporary thing just in case I need to pull an all nightery or something," I explained and turned to Lucas,

"Hey can you get me fishing patterns, I need them dating 5 years until yesterday," I said all business now. I concentrated on the water, there was something in an underwater cavern. Right then. I said and I took off my shirt, I would need to get wet with people watching. Everyone froze

"What are you doing?" Riki asked incredulously.

"Well information and charts are good and all but that's how I do things." I said making a show of stretching out my muscles as a swimmer would do, "I'm not a marine biologist, I'm a swimmer," I said, then I dived in. I heard a commotion above but I ignored it, swimming around looking for an entrance or something. I heard a splash and swiveled to see Zane had jumped in after me. He motioned up and I rolled my eyes but followed my lead.

"Look man, I know you're not from around here, but these waters are dangerous." He said and I leveled a gaze at him,

"That's why I'm here," I said, then ducked back under. I found the cavern pretty quickly this time. I stepped out of the pool and looked around, whistling. I ran my hand along the wall. Then something was flung at me. I stepped out of the way, and I heard people coming down, a tunnel I turned back to the pool, the tentacle had gone away. I hurried to the pool looking out of breath and looking around.

"It's a beautiful cave," I said getting out and scanning the room. They were staring at me; I stuck my hand back into the water and frowned. This was off, "Hey what's up with- WATCH OUT!" It happened all at once, they were so focused on me they didn't see the tentacle reaching out to get them. I jumped up and tackled it to the ground. It slithered back into the pool causing me to fall flat on my face. I chuckled.
