I brushed through some beads and sat down at a table, looking over some documents my father had given me, he was nice enough to have them in Greek, but that did nothing for the headache pounding in my head. I looked up as a curly blonde slammed a drink down on the table startling me
"I- uh I didn't order that?" I asked
"Yeah, but you looked like you can use it," The girl said rifling through my papers, "What is this mess anyway?" she asked, I was too tired to complain so I just took the drink,
"Just some readings and stuff, my Dad wanted me to come to check this place out for some reason, something about 'irregular activity' but couldn't be bothered to do it himself," I said the girl froze,
"What are you a scientist or something?" She asked peering down at me, "You don't seem like the type," She said and I rolled my eyes,
"Nope, I'm just some ordinary dude doing a favor for his oh so normal dad," I muttered under my breath,
"What was that?" She asked her eyes narrowing to slits,
"Oh! Nothing! I'm not a scientist but one could say I'm an expert at sea," I said she hummed and threw the papers back down,
"Well I hope you find the 'irregular activity'" She said and I rolled my eyes,
"Yeah, thanks," I muttered, "I'm not even allowed to leave until I do," I added as a side note, she froze,
"So you're not going back until you find the cause of this?" She asked and I nodded shifting through the papers but not really looking at the words,
"Yep, I'm thinking about heading out to Mako tonight actually, it would make the most sense if I just camped there for my trip, it might take a while and I don't have much money," I explained, mortal money that is, my dad thought it was a good idea to give me gold drachmas for this trip like they would be useful...
"Oh! You don't have to do that..." She drifted off and looking around the cafe she spotted someone and blurted out, "I have a friend, he can put you up for the night!" She grabbed my arm, causing me to spill my drink all over myself,
"Hey!" I said shocked, too shocked to allow myself to get wet, she backed away quickly,
"I'll go get towels for you," She said
"Don't bother," I muttered looking down, "It wasn't as bad as I thought," I said the only bits of the drink was now sticky on my clothes, I groaned of course, and these were my good pair too! I looked up at her,
"Anyways I don't even know you're name! Why do you think I'd be so stupid to spend the night at your friend's place?" I said going back to her, and her shocked expression,
"Well I'm Riki," She said grabbing my now drink free arm and hauling me over and sitting me down next to a blonde hair guy that also spilled his drink startled, all three girls jumped back, I sighed and got up,
"Let me clean up, grab my charts and I'll be right back," I said, tired of getting 'wet' at least this time I willed myself to get wet!
