We decide to take a trip. By the time we're there the day starts. We go to Washington DC, my choice. We have to get up early to go everywhere which results in us laying in bed an extra half hour. By the time we're up and out the door- me in a loose dress that hits my knees and you in a skirt- it's 8 in the morning. We drive by a local coffee shop and both get a frappe but only line has expresso. We end up sharing a muffin but don't finish it. We start going to museums and I get way too excited at all three of the Smithsonian's. You don't mind though. We take the dorkiest pictures inside and outside and you make fun of me for being a nerd. By lunchtime we made it to the greens. We went by a food truck for lunch and sit in the grass to eat. A street drummer starts playing and I record it. After we finish I drop a five in his bucket and you tell me it's a bit too much but I don't care. We both end up thinking about the violinist from The Sun is Also a Star. We stop by some small shops before finding our way to that museum of death I found online. It's a lot more morbid than either of us expected but we made it through. While I wait in line for cheesecake you find a little place nearby and buy a few me sunflowers. We take a walk and wonder through a few gardens and shops. By now it's 6 and we're looking for somewhere to eat dinner. We end up going by a small cafe and getting a sandwich. I look for a few more places to go before we head back to our hotel and we end up sitting by the water at a memorial and watching the sunset. You make me take pictures but I don't mind at all. We make it home before 10 and turn on some random movie. I don't even go through the things we bought before putting on one of your hoodies and going to bed. I do, however, put the sunflowers in a glass on the nightstand. I'll press the petals in the morning to take home. We go to sleep pretty fast that night.
