Nobodies POV
Inside the Valkyrie there are multiple figher planes with their targets written on them: Boston, Chicago, New York.
After Steve has managed to disable the fighter planes and their pilots he enters the cockpit where Schmidt is waiting.
"You don't give up, do you?" Red skull ask "Nope!" Steve yells
They fight.
"You could have the power of the gods! Yet you wear a flag on your chest and think you fight a battle of nations! I have seen the future, Captain! There are no flags!" Red skull yells
"Not my future!" Steve yells
He flings his shield at Schmidt who is thrown into the cubic console.
"What have you done? No." Red skull yells
Schmidt he picks up the cube and energy starts to pour from it, revealing a window into space.
A stream of blue energy engulfes Schmidt and takes him into the sky.
The cube falls to the ground and burns through it until it falls into the sea below.
Steve takes over the plane's controls, on a screen he reads "Ziel New York City" (target New York City), and tries the radio which is picked up by the Hydra control tower occupied by Peggy, Phillips and Morita.
"Come in. This is Captain Rogers. Do you read me?" Steve ask "Captain Rogers, what is your..." Morita is cut off.
Freya takes his place. "Steve, is that you? Are you alright?" Freya ask
"Freya! Schmidt's dead." Steve says "What about the plane?" Freya ask
Her heart was racing a mile a minute.
"That's a little bit tougher to explain." Steve says "Give me your coordinates, we'll find you a safe landing site." Freya says
"There's not going to be a safe landing. But I can try and force it down." Steve says "I'll get Howard on the line, he'll know what to do." Freya says
"There's not enough time. This thing's moving too fast and it's heading for New York." Steve says
Referring to Schmidt's plane, speaking through the plane's control. "I gotta put her in the water." Steve says
"Please, don't do this. We have time. We can work it out." Freya says
Her eyes tearing up.
"Right now I'm in the middle of nowhere. If I wait any longer a lot of people are gonna die. Freya, this is my choice." Steve says
As he's forcing the plane down towards the water. "Freya?" Steve ask
"I'm here." Freya says "I'm gonna need a rain check on that dance." Steve says
Freya is talking into the mic with tears in her eyes. "Alright. A week, next Saturday, at the Stork Club." Freya says
"You got it." Steve says "Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late. Understood?" Freya begs
"You know, I still don't know how to dance." Steve says "I'll show you how. Just be there." Peggy says
"We'll have the band play somethin' slow. I'd hate to step on your..." Steve is cut off.
The line goes static and Freya begins to cry. "Steve? Steve? Steve?" Freya begs
....
Later.
The world celebrates the victory over Nazi-Germany. The Howling Commandos are in a bar. "To the Captain." Falsworth says
They drink.
