Her arm ached and she pushed her legs forwards to catch up with Elise; her mothers sister had taken custody of her and for three years lived with that horrific creature under her roof. Now she's driven her halfway across the country.
Why? She didnt know.
Her grip on her arm was tight and she glanced down at her periodically, making sure her long black coat was buttoned at the front, covering the monstrosities at her back, hiding what was underneath.
They stopped at an iron gate and the rain pelted their coats, soaking into her curly hair.
"You are a curse brought upon this family," Elise hissed, her eyebrows pinched in anger and grief. "She should have done this in the beginning. I should have."
Her bony knuckles rapped on the door.
Florence could only stare at the floor with hollow, sunken eyes as the door opened.
All little Florence knew was that the person on the other side of the door was expecting her.
