Jack POV

“Ok, ok! Everyone let’s remain calm,” Fiona called out reassuringly.

“Jack, I am going to kill you!” Kelsey exclaimed at me.

“Kelsey, everyone, just relax!” Fiona coaxed.

“Everyone is calm besides Kelsey,” Johnson called out, his comment getting lost in the overlapping voices.

“I hate water! You know I hate the water! How did I ever let you convince me to do this?” Kelsey shoved my chest, causing me to stumble back.

I reached forward only to be swatted away. I hid my smile as I said, “Kelsey we’ve been out on the water for three minutes.”

Kelsey threw her hands up in the air as if my statement was explanation enough. “I particularly think you only wanted us to take a boat out for the day so both of you can see your girlfriends in bikinis. There can be no other explanation as to why someone would willingly spend their free time on a vessel that is bound to sink at any moment.”

“I thought you dropped this whole paranoia phase,” Fiona questioned.

“Just because I agreed to tour does not mean I am not longer afraid of things,” Kelsey corrected.

“You’re afraid of everything,” Johnson shot back.

“Can you focus on the boat you are currently driving? Thank you!” Kelsey shouted.

For our last day in Omaha, we all decided that we would take Johnson’s family’s boat onto the water. The weather was amazing, everyone was happy, and it seemed to be the perfect ending to a legendary season.

Then I remembered that I am dating someone who most definitely has more phobias than currently known to the world.

A day in the water did not seem so perfect now that I have a beautiful—yet terrifying— Kelsey shooting fiery looks every chance she got.

“Kelsey, do you not trust my skills as a boat driver? I promise, I’m licensed,” Johnson reassured.

Fiona snorted and replied, “That is the least assuring thing I have heard all summer.”

“Brilliant,” Kelsey huffed.

“Kelsey Jennings I will not have you spoil this boat outing!” Fiona demanded.

“Hey, I’m not doing it on purpose! I just get freaked out by water!” Kelsey defended.

“And elevators and killing fish and breaking and entering—,” I listed.

“Are you done?” Kelsey glared.

Johnson’s phone beeped, breaking up the ‘fight’ that had been occurring.

Johnson averted his eyes to see who the text was from when Kelsey screamed, “NO TEXTING AND DRIVING!”

Kelsey ran her fingers through her hair and exclaimed, “Oh my god! This is how it ends! In a boat with Fiona Dawson, my boyfriend who has perfect tan skin which makes it really hard to stay mad at him, and Jack Johnson who claims he can drive a boat yet was just tempted to let us crash because Sam Wilkinson shot him a text! IN OMAHA. It all ends in Omaha!”

A deep laugh tumbled out of my mouth and I leaned my head back and closed my eyes as laughter shook my entire body.

I am literally dating the most dramatic girl on the planet.

I fucking love it.

“What is her appeal again?” Johnson asked.

Kelsey whipped her head around and began to open her mouth when I slinked my arms around her waist and brought her down to sit with me.
