Reader x Shanks Pirate Dates

The red pirates ship rocked and swayed with the waves as it sailed. The crew's laughter could be heard from within the ship. "Come on y/n!" Shanks laughed loudly as his arm went around her shoulders pulling her closer to him. Y/n smiled seeing everyone was having a good time Shanks looked at y/n. "Hey, we should be coming to an island soon we should go on a date!" he suggested. It had been a while since they had been on land let alone gone on a date. Y/n nodded eagerly excited to get off the ship for awhile. 

Y/n jumped off the ship excited Shanks followed her laughing "come on old timer keep up" she smirked. "oh so that's how it's gonna be huh?" he chuckled catching up to her quickly. The two wandered through town Shanks spotted a woman selling flowers and walked over while y/n was distracted. He put some belli on the counter picking out a flower he walked back over to where y/n was admiring some wooden figures. "Y/n" Shank's said she turned her head looking at him as he held out a single F/F a cheeky grin on her face. Y/n smiled taking the flower from him. "you're so sweet Shanks" she said giggling she put it in her hair and took his hand as they continued to walk through town. "Someone said there are pirates here!" someone shouted y/n and shanks stopped walking to see a very large group of marines standing nearby. They suddenly pointed at the two. "Come on lets run!" Y/n laughed pulling Shanks along behind her he rolled his eyes laughing alongside her. "Don't you miss the good old days Shanks?" she called behind her "I sure do babe!" he replied. It wouldn't be a date if they weren't chased by the marines. 

They managed to evade them heading to a restaurant  in town y/n rested her elbows on the table in front of her fondly gazing at Shanks as he told the waiter what he wanted. As the waiter left Shanks turned to look at Y/n smirking "What's that look for?" he asked. Y/n giggled playing with the ring on her finger, "Just admiring that's all" she said. Shanks laughed "What's so funny?" she asked "we've been married for 5 years now, and yet you still haven't stopped looking at me that with that same look in your eye" he said. Y/n smiled "Just because we're married doesn't mean I love you any less I did before we were married" she said reaching across the table to hold his hand. "I love you too"

Their food came and the two ate quietly talking back and fourth. Once they finished Shanks looked at y/n "come on let's get out of here" he said the two stood up and ran out of the restaurant as they shouted after them. The two wound up in the woods. "Come on Shanks I saw a cliff near here when we got to the island!" y/n said cheerily  "Can't we take a little break?" he asked. "we're almost there!" she said slowing her pace. 

They cleared the trees and the sunset could be seen as they walked up to sit beneath a lone tree. "today was great, thanks for taking me on a pirate date" y/n chuckled leaning against Shank's chest his arm wrapped around her as they cuddled. "I had a good time it was nice to relive our young days" Shanks said. "you say that like we're 60!" she exclaimed. "I mean you are the one whose always calling me old" he smirked. y/n shrugged "I love you old man" she teased. "I love you too" he laughed as she kissed him softly. Relaxing together until the sun sank down behind the horizon.
