Reader x Hanahaki Law Incapable of love p.t 2

Days, Weeks, Months time had gradually passed since Y/n's surgery Law felt a strong sense of remorse noticing the small things that had gradually changed about y/n. She rarely smiled, she slept more often. the excitement that once filled her cheerful eyes had long disappeared and was replaced with sorrow and hatred. She had never forgiven Law for forcing her through that surgery, but he was her captain although she can't feel love. She knew she cared about him and was still willing to risk her life to help him achieve his goal. 

Y/n sat in her room reading a book. "Y/n?" Law's voice came from the other side of the door as he knocked gently. She stood up placing her book down on the table and opened the door. "captain" y/n said looking up at him the blank expression on her face filled him with guilt. "we'll be arriving at the next island soon, would you like to come with me?" he asked. "I am indifferent about it I'll get ready to go" she said.

Y/n changed into a pair of jeans a t shirt and a light jacket. The submarine resurfaced and y/n walked out onto the small deck Law and a few others came out behind her. "are you ready to go Captain?" Y/n asked "Let's go" Law replied before barking a few orders to the others. The two got off the ship and walked into the town on the island. Law watched y/n carefully she was alert on the lookout for any threats. "Y/n" Law said "yes captain?" she asked keeping her eyes ahead. "let's stop somewhere and eat" he said "alright" y/n said. 

The two stopped at a restaurant Law pulled her chair out for her she looked at him slightly confused but thanked him nonetheless taking her seat. He sat across from her talking about whatever came to mind. "y/n" Law said reaching across the table and taking her hand in his. She looked at their hands before looking back at Law "I realized taking from you what i did, was my way of wanted to protect you. Trying to prevent the worst and I made a huge mistake" he explained. Y/n stared at him surprised "I love you" he said for the first time in months y/n felt something pull at her heart. Not love but unbearable sadness tears began to slip down her cheek. She pulled her hand away from his taking a shaky breath before she spoke. 

"You love me" she whispered her voice cracking she looked Law in the eye. "you took everything from me and now you're telling me you love me?" she could barely keep her voice steady. Y/n stood up "It's much too late for that now captain, I can NEVER love again" she said turning to walk away. "I can fix it" he said Y/n stopped, looking over her shoulder. "You can never fix what you've already taken" she replied "I'll never stop trying!" Law shouted standing up bringing attention to himself. She had already left the restaurant and gone back to the ship.

more months passed Y/n went out of her way to avoid her captain hoping that in some way it would help him lose his feelings. Little did she know he spent countless hours researching trying to find a way to return what he had forcefully taken from the woman he loved. It was rather late y/n had gotten up to get some water having to pass Law's office she noticed the the lights were still on. Y/n pushed open the door just enough to peak inside. She spotted Law fast asleep his head resting on his desk. Y/n sighed walking into the room she walked up to law about to wake him up when she noticed the piles of books sand documents laying around his desk.

"Law" she whispered picking up one of the pages she scanned the pages "Do you normally snoop through my papers?" Y/n jumped startled she looked down at Law who was smirking looking up from his desk where his head was laid. "I figured you would have given up by now" she said softly. "I'll never give up y/n" he said now sitting up. Y/n smiled, come on let's get you to bed captain" she said. He stood up she walked with him to his room he sat on the bed she took his sword from him setting it into it's place near his bed. Then she took off his hat and set it down on the dresser. She walked back over to him "do you need anything?" she asked. "stay with me" he said "as you wish" she said sitting in his bed comfortably she pulled him towards her resting his head against her chest. His arms hung loosely around her waist "goodnight Law" she whispered.
