In the morning, Quinn rushed to the bathroom to throw up. She knew why she was throwing up - it had been happening for weeks and her doctor had confirmed her fears, but still, she ignored it.
"Are you okay?"
Used to Santana's busy work schedule and constant absence from the apartment, Quinn hadn't even bothered to close the bathroom door, and Finn was standing in the doorway.
"I'm fine." Quinn insisted, flushing the toilet and rinsing her mouth. She splashed water onto her face. "Did I wake you up?"
"No, I was up." Finn said. "I'm seeing Rachel today and she hates when I'm late so I was gonna start getting ready."
"Go ahead." Quinn replied as she stepped out of Finn's way.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Finn wondered. "Was it the pizza?"
"No, the pizza was fine." Quinn promised. "I'm gonna go back to bed. The shower's all yours."
-
Quinn couldn't fall back to sleep. She was sweating and her mind was racing. She felt nauseous and did her best to ignore it until Finn left the bathroom.
As soon as the bathroom was free, Quinn was back in there throwing up again.
"Hey, I'm gonna..." Finn trailed off when he saw Quinn on the floor by the toilet. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'm fine. Don't keep Rachel waiting." Quinn responded.
"You're crying." Finn noted as he sat down on the floor and looked at Quinn. "You're not okay."
"Finn, I don't..." Quinn trailed off, pausing before she threw up again.
"Why don't you let me take you to a doctor?" Finn offered.
"I don't need a doctor." Quinn said. "I'm fine."
Finn furrowed his eyebrow. He and Quinn didn't know each other well and he didn't want to push her.
"You should go out, okay?" Quinn told Finn. "I'll be here or I'll be in bed, but I'm fine. I just need to rest."
Finn looked at Quinn.
"I'm fine." Quinn said. "Please just forget about this, okay?"
"Okay." Finn finally gave in as he stood up. "But call me if you need me."
"I will." Quinn promised as Finn took her hand and carefully helped her up. "Thanks, Finn."
-
Quinn spent the day in bed. In fact, she spent her first week living with Finn avoiding Santana and her other friends.
Throughout the week, Finn had friends over and introduced them to Quinn, inviting her to join them, but Quinn stayed in her room. On nights when it was just the two roommates, they hung out and talked and watched movies together.
After about a week of hiding in the apartment, Finn stood in the doorway of Quinn's room.
"Hey." Finn said.
"Hey." Quinn repeated. "Come in."
Finn walked in and looked at Quinn. "You've been here for a week now so I wanted to see how everything's going."
"I'm fine." Quinn promised.
"I know. I just meant... do you like the apartment? Your room's okay?" Finn questioned Quinn.
"Yeah, it's really nice here." Quinn responded. "And you're a really good roommate."
Finn nodded. "I'm glad you're happy. It's nice having you here."
"Yeah." Quinn nodded back.
"I wanted to ask you something." Finn said. "Is it okay with you if Puck crashes here for a few days? He's visiting New York again."
"W-Why wouldn't that be okay?" Quinn stuttered.
"Santana said you've been acting weird since the night at the bar." Finn stated. "And I wasn't sure if he did something."
"No, he didn't do anything wrong." Quinn promised. "He can stay here when he comes. You don't need my permission."
"Well, it's our apartment now so I thought you should get to decide if we have guests." Finn replied. "Although Puck isn't really a guest. I'll let him know it's okay for him to stay here. I'm sure he'd like to see you again anyway."
"Yeah." Quinn nodded. "Sure."
