When they were at the hospital, Noah helped Quinn into a hospital gown and onto the bed. The labor had picked up and the contractions were so close that they brought her right to the delivery room.
"Noah." Quinn said as she reached for his hand. "I can't do this."
"Yes you can. You're doing so good, babe." Noah promised.
Quinn looked at Noah.
"Just breathe and squeeze my hands." Noah said. "She'll be here soon."
Quinn whined something inaudible as tears rolled down her cheeks. She let go of Noah's hand and gripped the bedrails as the doctor and nurses entered the room.
"How are we doing in here?" Dr. Goldstein asked as she sat down in front of Quinn.
"She's miserable." Noah answered.
"Well, I hope you picked out a name because she'll be here within the hour." Dr. Goldstein stated.
"Really?" Noah asked.
Dr. Goldstein nodded as she looked at Quinn. "Quinn, can you sit up for me? You're gonna start pushing, okay?"
"I can't do this." Quinn shook her head. "Noah, I can't do this."
"Yes you can." Noah told her. "Squeeze my hands and scream at me all you want, alright? Come on, sit up."
Quinn sat forward, and Noah adjusted the pillows behind her. She gripped the bedrail with one hand while she squeezed Noah's hand with the other and started pushing at the doctor's orders.
"Good." Dr. Goldstein said. "Breathe."
Quinn took a deep breath.
"Push at the next contraction." Dr. Goldstein told Quinn. "Twenty seconds."
"Twenty seconds." Quinn shook her head. She screamed in pain as she dug her nails into Noah's hand and continued pushing again.

Quinn sighed in relief when she finally heard the soft cries of her newborn baby girl.
"You did it." Noah grinned as he kissed Quinn's cheek. "I'm so proud of you."
"You wanna cut the cord, Dad?" The nurse asked.
Noah nodded and cut the umbilical cord while Quinn delivered the placenta. Noah watched the nurses as they cleaned and wrapped up the baby.
The nurse laid the bundled up baby girl in Quinn's arms. "Congratulations."
"You did great." Dr. Goldstein told Quinn. "I'll have the nurses take you to recovery."
Quinn nodded, too choked up and exhausted to peel her eyes away from the perfect baby in her arms. Her daughter.
