(Y/n) POV

The group and I all stood on the deck as we made our way to Ember Island. I grinned wearing my new one piece swim suit and giant sun hat.

I've never actually been to a public beach before, let alone a private one for the Fire Nation.

"I'm so excited to spend the weekend on Ember Island for an engagement party. It's going to be great to hang out on the beach and do nothing" Ty Lee smiled.

"Doing nothing is a waste of time. We're being sent away on a forced vacation. I feel like a child" Zuko scoffed gripping the railing of the boat.

I walked over and placed my hand on his shoulder, "Hey, it's gonna be fun" I smiled.

"Lighten up. So Dad wants to meet with his advisers alone, without anyone else around. Don't take it personally" Azula told him.

"Doesn't your family have a house on Ember Island?" Ty Lee asked to lighten the mood a smidge.

Azula turned her head away from us, "We used to come every summer when we were kids"

"That must have been fun!" I smiled.

"That was a long time ago" Zuko grumbled.

"Hey, at least it's an excuse to have some fun," I told them. "I honestly don't remember the last moment I've been able to relax" I chuckled.

That was true. Even before I met Aang, I never relaxed. I couldn't. My father and his men left me and my brother to protect our Tribe. You try relaxing when you have to protect it entire group of people!

My people, and when this war is over I'll be able to keep them safe. But now I'll be able to even more!

The boat then pulled into the doc and we were met with Lo and Li, who got here about a day prior.

"Welcome to Ember Island, kids" they smiled before gesturing to the house we'd be staying at.

I gasped at the little house in the distance as the others faces went sour, "It's so big!" I smiled before they all looked at me like I was insane.

I raised a brow, "What? Ok I grew up in a block of ice, a shed is massive and different to me" I exclaimed.

"Wow, you must've experienced a lot of culture shock travelling the world" Mai exclaimed as we got off the boat and began to walk to the house.

I shrugged, "Yeah, I guess. But when you grow up secluded everything is a shock to you"

"I can agree on that" she nodded in her monotoned voice.

We walked up the little house and made our way inside. While everyone else looked a little board by the design, I was over the moon.

"It's so big!" I squealed.

"You already said that" Mai told me.

I turned to her and chuckled, "Am I wrong though?"

"Yes," she nodded. "This is probably smaller then the servants quarters back home"

Azula sighed, "We really need to teach you more about the architecture here"

Zuko came up next to me before locking our hands together, "It smells like old lady in here" he grumbled.
