"Are-Are you really mad at me?" You ask hesitantly, following quickly behind Ruel as he strides towards the front door.

You hear him scoff quietly, but other than that he doesn't respond, only steps inside your shared house.

You bite your bottom lip and stare at his retreating figure, copying his actions and walking in a few seconds later. "I wasn't doing anything wrong, Ruel." Your voice is just barely loud enough for him to hear you.

Ruel finally spins back around to face you, his jaw clenched and eyes angry. "You were fucking flirting with him, Y/N! Do you think i'm blind?!"

You can't help but flinch at the sudden loudness of his voice. "No! I-I was just-"

"Just what? I literally watched you hold his hand!"

His reaction to everything surprises you. The two of you had decided to go grab something for dinner, and ended up at one of the local diners. Your plan was to just quickly order food to go, but one of the waiters stopped you. He was simply complimenting you on your outfit. It was clear to you that he was interested in guys, but Ruel, of course, was too blinded by jealousy to realize.

You shook his hand after learning his name. Which Ruel apparently perceived as you holding it. How he can just assume stuff like that amazes you. It happens way too often.

"It wasn't like that." You quietly answer, hoping he'll keep his voice down this time.

Ruel simply rolls his eyes, and it's obvious he doesn't believe you. "Right. I'm sure it wasn't." With that, he turns and heads upstairs, not bothering to wait for a response.

You feel tears forming in your eyes, but force them back, refusing to let yourself cry over something so small. He'll get over it and realize how ridiculous he's being.

After finishing a glass of water, in hopes of calming yourself down, you head up to your room, only to see Ruel in bed. It seems like he could possibly be asleep already, so you quietly head into the bathroom connected to your room.

Your intentions were to try and solve the issue before going to bed. You've heard how bad it was to fall asleep mad at each other. Ruel was the mad one, really. You were just upset that he'd think you'd ever flirt with another guy, when he already has your whole heart.

Once you've completed your nightly routine of washing your face and brushing your teeth, you reluctantly head back into the bedroom.

Deciding that it's best to at least try talking to him, you walk over to his side of the bed. "Ruel?" You call out quietly, and after a few seconds of silence, you sigh, realizing he must actually be asleep. "I'm sorry for making you feel like i'd ever want to be with someone else. I-I promise that you're the only one I want." You purse your lips, choosing to ignore how weird it is for you to be confessing everything even though he isn't listening. "And I wasn't trying to hold his hand, but you know how anxious I get around new people, and he just wanted to shake my-" You suddenly cut yourself off, to avoiding getting all worked up, and release a deep breath. "Anyways, I love you. Please don't be mad at me for too long."

With one final soft kiss on his temple, you make your way out of your shared bedroom, and instead head towards the guest bedroom, where you'll be sleeping tonight.

You know how Ruel gets when he's mad. He likes his space, so you thought that sleeping in a separate room might help him calm down a little.

Despite it being your choice, laying in the unfamiliar bed is uncomfortable. You can't seem to find the right position, and you honestly aren't that tired anyways, the argument constantly replaying in the back of your mind.

Only about five minutes pass, before the sound of the door opening interrupts your thoughts.

Your eyes widen and you immediately sit up at the sight of Ruel walking in. He's only in a pair of gray sweatpants, as he slowly steps towards you, while running his fingers through his hair.

"I was looking for you. What are you doing in here, baby?"

You're surprised by how much softer his voice is now. Not to mention the hint of worry in it.

"You're upset with me... I-I just wanted to give you space." You explain quietly, fiddling with the duvet.

Ruel frowns at your words and he walks further into the room, until he's right next to the bed. He then reaches out and brushes your hair back. "I-I just..." He sighs. "I get so fucking insecure, because I know you deserve better than me, and-"

"Stop, Ruel." You interrupt him quietly. "You know I love you, and only you. If I didn't think you were the one for me, then I wouldn't be here right now." A small smile appears on your face. "He was gay, you know?"

The boy in front of you immediately stares back at you in shock, his mouth slightly open, and eyes wide. "No? Was he?"

You giggle quietly and nod. "Yes, Ruel. It was so obvious."

"Shit." Ruel curses under his breath, as he slips into the bed, right next to you. "Now I feel even worse."

"I know, it's okay." You whisper, leaning up to peck him right in the lips. "But you can't just assume the worst every time, especially if it has anything to do with our relationship."

"I'm sorry, baby. I really am." He pulls you even closer than before, and leaves a soft kiss on the top of your head. "I swear it won't happen again."

"Good." You turn your head so that you can grin up at him.

He returns your expression and leans down once again to attack your face with kisses. "I love you, Y/N. So, so, so much."

You can't help but laugh and attempt to push him away. "Okay, okay. I love you too."
