Shade walked out of the wards holding the files of some juniors.

"Nurse Mayo, Ewatomi didn't come during break?" She asked and Nurse Mayo nodded.

"She came here few minutes ago. She attended to a few people and left. She said someone was teaching her a few things for the test and asked me to please watch over some of the patients" Nurse Mayo said and Shade nodded.

"I'll also start preparing for my test soon so the work may fall unto you" Shade said and Nurse Funke nodded.

"You work hard so there's no big deal in taking care of them for a while" Nurse Funke said before she wore a smile.

"I see your boyfriend hasn't gotten into any fights recently" She said and Shade turned to her.

"Boyfriend?" She asked and Nurse Mayo pinched Nurse Funke.

"I'm talking about Luke" Nurse Funke said and Shade laughed.

"He's not my boyfriend, we are just good friends" Shade said as she dropped the files.

"Aiii, you area always with him. How will he not take notice of a beautiful girl like you?" Nurse Funke asked as she shook her head.

"Is it that he's not interested in you or that you don't like him? You two are a perfect match" Nurse Funke said and Nurse Mayo glared at her.

"You should be on your way Shade, we'll take care of everything here" Nurse Mayo said and Shade smiled.

"Goodnight" she said as she started walking towards the classroom area.

Practically every girl had eyes for Luke. Luke had features that were distinct and attractive. He didn't need to do anything, his existence alone was eye catching.

Like every other girl, she also had this crush on him. When they got to SSS2, she all of a sudden got an opportunity to become friends with him when they got mixed in the same group for a general project.

She wasn't the only girl in the group but she managed to get along with him. Surprisingly, he treated her well like her a friend.

People started making up rumours that they were dating and she couldn't but be happy. Even if they weren't dating, it was okay to let the students speculate.

She got a shock when Luke told her to clear the rumour. She tried to convince him to let the students continue to misunderstand and that there was no problem since it wasn't true.

She would never forget how Luke looked at her that day. Even after clearing the rumour, he acted cold to her and she had to apologise. And even after they started talking again, the coldness lingered.

She used small gestures to try to show she liked him and she never went overboard because she knew what would happen if she went overboard. She was grateful for the small privileges she had.

Like she being the only one who could freely talk to him, the other girls that he spoke to, spoke to him with lingering fears in their speech. She was the only one who could treat his wounds and all.

But that was before, someone else could treat him if she wasn't around. Shade sighed as she climbed the stairs of the SSS3 block. She had always wanted to see Ewatomi and personally ask her about her relationship with Luke but she kept missing her or didn't have time.

And besides, she hadn't seen Ewatomi in a while so it might just be that Luke wanted to help her and Fikayo. Luke was that crazy.

Shade played with her fingers as she walked through the hallway into her class. The hallway and classes were deserted already as school was already over.

Only a few students could be seen reading in the classes. Shade packed her stuff into her bag carefully.

Luke knew she liked him but he never said anything about him. Shade had tried using different methods to see if he happened to share the same feelings with her but they all proved abortive.

Not that she wasn't confident in herself. Shade would definitely enter the list of top twenty most beautiful girls on SSS3 block.

She was slightly tall and lean. Her chocolate skin was her real beauty. It shine and complimented her looks a lot. She had a smile that could make your thoughts run haywire and when she laughed? It was fucking beautiful.

She was well confident in her looks. She had the looks, she had the charms, she had the brains, she had all. She had turned everyone that asked her out down.

That was how it became an open secret that she liked Luke. It was something everyone knew. But no one knew Luke's stand.

The uncertainty in Shade's heart was growing day by day. If he actually had feelings for her, he wouldn't put her on hold all these while bah?

It was useless trying to ask Kunle. There were plenty of reasons that someone like Kunle was Luke's best friend. Kunle was one of the most blunt and straightforward guy Shade had met in her life. He spoke his mind without any reservations.

He spoke honestly without trying to sugarcoat his words. He had earned that respect of saying the real truth in any situation.

Shade sighed again as the words of Nurse Funke came rushing back to her. Since she had never actually told Luke she liked him face to face, she was going to.

It was high time she knew what Luke thought about her.

Shade stood up and carried her bag. She locked her locker and walked out of the class. She had walked halfway and was almost out of the block when she turned back and decided to check if Luke was still in school.

Shade peered through the window and froze. She could see Luke explaining something to an oddly familiar female who had her back to her. Shade blinked and watched as the female turned to the side to bring out something from her bag.

A bad feeling rose in Shade's heart immediately.

The person Ewatomi had told Nurse Mayo and Nurse Funke was going to teach her was Luke?
