Ewatomi hurriedly packed her books into her locker and locked it. She then carried her bag and she turned to Fikayo.

"Your mom is coming to pick you bah?" Ewatomi asked and Fikayo nodded.

"Yes. Is the clinic busy?" Fikayo asked and Ewatomi shook her head.

"Not really. Someone offered to teach me a few things before the test I can't miss it" Ewatomi said and Fikayo nodded.

"That's good" she said and Ewatomi heaved a sigh of relief in her heart. She couldn't tell Fikayo yet that it was Luke who was teaching her.

"Why didn't you ask me? I can teach you as well" Matthew said with a smile and Fikayo eyed him.

"Go and teach someone else" Fikayo said as she dragged Ewatomi out of the class leaving Matthew in the class.

Matthew sighed as he rubbed his forehead. Just how much longer was he supposed to chase her. She was already tangled with Luke so he had to be careful around her.

After Ewatomi bade goodbye to Fikayo, she started walking towards the SSS3 block. Ever since she saw Luke up close, a sudden urge overcame her. She just wanted to see him everyday.

Like most girls on her block, she had admired Luke from afar. He was a fantasy to most of the girls. They could only wish and imagine.

Ewatomi pursed her lips as she climbed the stairs of the SSS3 block. Luke was dangerously goergous. Whether he wore a calm or expressionless face, it was had to pull ones eyes off him.

His smiling face appeared in Ewatomi's head again and she slapped her forehead muttering all kinds of words. She quickly comported herself as she got Luke's class. She was about to take permission when Luke used his finger to indicate that she should come in.

The class was empty and only Luke sat down in her seat. One of his notes in front of him. As Ewatomi sat down, she couldn't help but be dazed by Luke's handwriting. It was almost like italics.

Ewatomi watched as Luke flip the note pages as it he was counting it.

"You prefer black to blue pen?" Ewatomi asked and Luke turned to her with a puzzled look.

"How did you know that?" Luke asked and Ewatomi pointed at his note.

"All your notes are written with black pen" Ewatomi said and Luke nodded.

"I don't just prefer black over blue. I don't use blue pens" Luke said as he closed his notes.

Ewatomi quickly brought out her notes and her jotter. She opened the textbook and showed Luke.

" I have problems with this particular topic" Ewatomi said.

"Heat capacity?" Luke asked with one of his eyebrows raised and Ewatomi nodded.

"Okay. Tell me if you get confused or there's something you don't understand" Luke said as he brought out a black pen from his left pocket.

"Hmmm" Ewatomi said and Luke started explaining to her.

Luke discovered that Ewatomi was focused most of the time. Although she got distracted sometimes while staring at him, if he raised his eyebrow at her; she would look down embarrassed before gaining her focus again.

Ewatomi couldn't help but get distracted as Luke taught her. His face seemed to glow more as she stared at him. His voice was like music to her ears.

Above all, she discovered she could understand everything he taught her. She easily answered the questions Luke asked her.

Luke checked his wristwatch and sighed "It's late already" he said as he ticked about ten questions in the textbook.

"Do it and come and show me tomorrow" Luke said and Ewatomi nodded as she packed her books inside her bag.

She watched as Luke opened his locker and arranged his notes neatly. She smiled lightly. He was really a neat freak.

Luke closed his locker as he carried his bag. He always didn't lock his locker. No one dared approach his locker to take something anyways.

"I'll drop you off" Luke said and Ewatomi nodded as she walked beside Luke towards the car park. The sun had almost gone down and what remained in the sky was a round golden ball that gave everything down a golden halo.

Ewatomi stared at Luke as the golden halo envelope him. He looked more attractive with his hands in his pockets.

Luke smiled as he spoke "Do I look that handsome? You've been staring at me for over two minutes. You kept losing focus when I was teaching you too" Luke said and Ewatomi froze and peeled her away from him, her cheeks growing warm.

She managed a short laugh and smiled "Isn't the answer obvious? If you aren't handsome, why else would I stare at you?" Ewatomi asked and she watched dazed as Luke laughed heartily.

"You are quite bold" he said as they got to the car.

Ewatomi laughed "Bold? You know I'm just stating the obvious right?" Ewatomi asked and Luke opened the door for her.

"Get in" Luke said and Ewatomi chuckled as she got into the car.

Ewatomi was quite surprised at herself. She didn't have a single idea where she was getting the confidence to talk to Luke from. Luke got into the car and the driver drove out of the compound.

Luke leaned backwards against the car seat. His school bag and Ewatomi's school bag separated both of them.

Luke brought out his ear pods and stuck it in his ear. He only fixed one ear in case Ewatomi wanted to say something.

Unfortunately she didn't say anything until the driver got to her house. Ewatomi turned to Luke.

"Thank you for the ride Snr Luke" Ewatomi said and Luke nodded.

"No problem" Luke said as Ewatomi opened the door to get down. She suddenly turned to Luke.

"Give me your number" She said as she stretched her palm towards him.

Luke laughed lightly as he searched his pocket for his pen. He uncovered it and held Ewatomi's hand and wrote his number on her palm.

Ewatomi could feel sparks run down her spine as Luke's fingers grazed her palm. His hand was warm as he held it.

"Okay. Good night" Ewatomi said as she got down. She waved at Luke and knocked on the gate. The smaller gate opened and Luke made sure Ewatomi entered before the driver drove off.

Luke swirled his pen in between his fingers a small smile on his face.
