It was the week after Hiyoko, Ibuki and Mahiru had witnessed the incident with Junko and Mikan in the courtyard, the short blonde walked from her last class to the cafeteria as the bell had just rung indicating lunch. Through the long halls she walked in a sea of fellow ultimates all heading to the cafeteria. As soon as she got there she noticed them sitting together. Mahiru and Kazuichi. "Hey Mahiru-" Hiyoko hadn't even finished her sentence before bing stared down by both Kaz and Hajime who she hadn't notified was there before.

The red haired girl looked mildly stunned by the appearance of Hiyoko, she looked away, avoiding eye contact. Hiyoko couldn't help but feel annoyed by this, but she also felt sad and confused, what had she done wrong? Last night she and Mahiru spent the night talking and laughing together like they did most nights but now suddenly Mahiru was distant, trying to ignore Hiyoko was even standing there as she ate in silence looking down at her plate. "Hey uhhh-" Kazuichi gave a nervous laugh "Hiyoko... uhh can you sit somewhere else today- maybe I dunno..."  Hiyoko was angered by this. She always sat with Mahiru so why was he trying to stop her from doing so? "Why? I always sit here you pink fuckface"  By now he should've been used to Hiyokos insults but he still looked like he had just been pricked with a sharp needle as she spoke to him. "Well- ahaha...Mahiru said-" "We're just talking with Mahiru at the moment but we'd like to talk, just us three." Hajime butted in before Kazuichi could finish. "Well why can't Mahiru talk to me? Me and Mahiru are Besties!"

This was the first time Mahiru looked up at Hiyoko all day, she looked up at her in a way Hiyoko couldn't describe. Confusion? Admiration? Comfort? Or just a look of denial? Maybe all 4, She couldn't tell, but Mahiru looked back down at her half eaten food as if she hadn't even taken her eyes off it. "Like I said, it's just us three talking right now. Sorry Hiyoko, maybe another time" Hajime gave Hiyoko an awkward forced smile trying to make what he said sound less rude, however it didn't work on Hiyoko. "Ugh! Ok then enjoy your new friends then ~Mahiru~" Hiyoko scoffed, turning on her heel she walked away to find another table to sit at. The trouble was, she didn't have anywhere else to sit as Ibuki was at a band practice and Mikan had already stopped interacting with Ibuki, Mahiru, and Hiyoko as much as she could (Hiyoko couldn't help but wonder if that was because of Junko).

The short dancer surveyed her options, Maybe she could sit somewhere with people she hadn't met before. She had made her decision. Three girls sat at a table near the far right. A girl with short black hair in a basic school uniform paired with fingerless black gloves. The girl sat next to her had long blue hair with the classic sailor style school uniform in pink and blue. The last girl dressed head to toe in black and white, her large frilly black dress and blazer with two black drills of hair either side of her head.

Hiyoko made her way over and sat down without a word as if she had sat here a hundred times before. "And who the fuck are you?" The girl with the short black hair stared at Hiyoko in confusion, obviously annoyed by her presence. "I'm Hiyoko saionji... ultimate traditional dancer." The blonde girl lacked her usual spark she had when introducing herself, the situation with Mahiru had put her in a bad mood. "Is it okay if I sit here?"
All three girls sat at the table were awkwardly silent as if cautions of the short blonde girl. "Uh- ah yes of course!" The girl with the long blue hair forced a smile but she obviously want very good at faking it. She began to introduce herself and the two others "I'm Sayaka Maizono! Ultimate pop star at your service!~" she paused and striked a cute pose similarity what Hiyoko would usually do while introducing herself. "This is Mukuro Ikusaba, the ultimate solider aka my girlfriend!" Sayaka lovingly hugged the girl with the short black hairs arm. "And lastly, this is Celestia ludenburg! The ultimate gambler!" The last girl, known as Celestia was dressed in frills of black and white matching her two large drills of black hair. "It is a pleasure to meet you Hiyoko. You may call me Celeste." Celeste held out her hand offering a handshake towards Hiyoko who was now sitting next to her, to which she ignored.

The four of them chatted for another few minutes till eating time was over and the girls parted ways. Hiyoko had enjoyed the experience but still wished she had sat with Mahiru instead...

Did Mahiru...
