SH: <still confused> You think I'm playing you?
Jake: <thinking> Well, your responses are like an aloof celebrity and you keep staring at me.
SH: <realizing JK is not used to people just staring at him without conversation> What makes you think I'm a celebrity? <because I am, but apparently, you're not from around here>
Jake: <nervously taps the side of his leg> umm, well, I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but you're kinda good-looking, so you probably get a lot of girls approaching you.
SH: <nodding as fact> And guys.
Jake: Wait. What? <lean against the wall covering his mouth, turning red>
SH: <staring at him getting flustered>
Jake: <still covering his mouth> So you think I was like trying to pick up on you?
SH: Not sure, you're a little slow.
Jake: Hey, that's rude. I'm at the top of my class. But I know you mean socially; I mean stuff like this.
SH: Like asking someone out?
Jake: What? No. Like making friends. I mean I have a lot of friends back home, but I've never asked anyone out before.
SH: You've never asked a guy out before?
Jake: <looking really embarrassed mumbling> or a girl. <looking away>
SH: <smiles sightly> Didn't you just ask me out for a meal?
Jake: <remembering what he said early> Oh, no, no. I was just so happy someone gave me something, that I wanted to return your kindness.
SH: <thinking back on why he did it, being quick-witted> It wasn't out of kindness. <laughing hard inside>
Jake: <totally embarrassed, covers his mouth> I gotta go, see you around.
SH: <surprised and confused at his reaction - knowing he would turn red, but why didn't he ask for his #, he gave him the drop>
Jake: <runs out>
SH: <not sure what just happen – it felt like he just got rejected.>
SH: <thinking to himself> too bad, he's cute.
<Jake is well-mannered, and would never just run out like that. But he didn't know why he reacted like that and felt bad>
