"Even if I'm afraid, you were my everything..."
-SuperM, "So Long"

Yeonjun buys me a poached egg, me scarfing most of it down within a second. The passerby swoons softly at the walking princes while looking at me with disgusting scoffs. They must think I'm some kind of monster. I shrug it off easily- welcome to my life. When I'm just about done with the delicious egg, Yeonjun hits me with his elbow. The egg falls out of my hand and onto the dirty ground, my eyes staring at its every move. As Yeonjun's head turns he whacks me with the beads on his myeonrugwan.

"Yeonjun, have you no sense?" Seungcheol says, grabbing me away from the younger and checking my face. "Not only did you waste half a beautiful coin, but you also hit the girl!" Ah, I am just 'the girl'. What a nice title. "You're so cumbersome, please be cautious."

"Apologies, Miss Youra," Yeonjun bows, seeing the wasted piece of egg stepped and dirtied into the ground. "I'll buy you another one."

"No worries, Yeonjun," Shaking my head, I refuse to eat another one. I'll just get some later when I'm by myself. "How can I repay you?" I ask, and he smirks. Leaning into me, I push myself back. Sometimes, these princes scare me- so benevolent to invade one's space.

"Give us rain," He whispers, making me widen my eyes. Now, what makes you think that if I've fallen out of the sky, you'll get just anything? I'm no deity, I'm no deity assistant, no beggar. I'm human, and I can't just control the weather so aimlessly! "That's how you can repay me."

"I think you're over exaggerating, Yeonjun," Eunwoo shook his head, crossing his arms. "What makes you think that Youra makes rain pour upon us?" Eunwoo isn't lying.

"Exactly, I can't just say "Oh dear deities, please rain upon Joseon!" and have it actually rain-" I feel water splatter against my rough skin and I know that this was another way of showing that fortune is always against my words. Fortune for them, terribly unfortunate for me. Yeonjun gasps before he looks up to the storming clouds then back at me, covering his mouth closed.

"You're a hidden deity!" He exclaims quietly, making me sigh frustratingly. Everyone is screaming in joy as they pull out uncovered cups and buckets, grabbing the pouring rain as they bathe in such harmony;

While I stand and sulk in the cold rain. I don't think they know what cold rain can do to you because they haven't had it in a while. "You might get sick, be careful," I say to Eunwoo, who stopped his mini-celebration to nod. Yeonjun stops as well, staring right back at me. Shivers enter my spine, making me stiffen up. Yeonjun takes gigantic steps towards me, eyes daggering before I flinch under his stare.

Before I know it, the rain has stopped from above me, Yeonjun using his gonryongpyo to shelter me from the storming rain. He looks down at me, smiling softly. "I thank you for this refined act. Your charity is not only well-appreciated, but you have accommodated my people tenfold today." It was one singular act, dodo. Is this how kindness works around here? I better get used to it.
