•Chloes Pov•
Haz drives us back home, and even just pulling up to the house causes me a ton of anxiety. Seeing Tom shot.. it traumatized me. The one person I love most in the world got hurt here, and it's never going to feel the same.
"It'll get better." Haz comments as we sit in the car. He takes notice of my hesitation to get out, and turns off the car, just waiting. "It takes time, but you'll get there."
"Have you seen someone shot?" I ask him.
"I have." He nods. I can see the hurt in his eyes, it must have been someone he was close to. "Last year during training.. it was just the wrong place at the wrong time. Our trainer was shot. He was the closest thing I had to a dad.. Taylor was a good guy."
Taylor.. that name sounds so familiar. Oh! The photo I found in that room!
"Taylor Stanley?" I ask, and his brows scrunch together.
"How'd you know?" He asks.
"I saw a photo with his name on it.. I'm sorry you lost him."
He gives me a small smile, and nods towards the front door.
"There he is, patched up and good as new." He says. "Told you he'd be okay."
My eyes flick over to the front door, seeing Tom waiting outside for me. I quickly open the car door and jump out, running to my very best friend. I reach him, and he squeezes me in his arms as best as he can with his injury. I pull away, and grab his face with my hands on either side.
"If you ever scare me like that again I will kill you. Understood?" I warn.
"Yes ma'am." He grins, pulling me back into his arms. Even after everything I was told yesterday, in his arms is still the safest I've ever felt.
"I need a shower after being in a car with this one all day. She smells like sugar cookies threw up on her." Haz says as he walks past us and inside the house.
I frown, looking up to Tom who laughs.
"You do kinda smell like a cookie factory. Not a bad thing though. It's just your perfume." He shakes his head. "I like it, it's comforting."
Tom is so much softer with me than he is with anyone in this house.
I see a young looking guy walk towards us, he has dark, almost black hair, contrasting well against his bright emerald eyes. He looks somewhat anxious when he sees me, not looking away. I hold the eye contact with him, and he speaks up.
"You.. you're the girl." He says, lifting his finger slowly to point at me.
"What? How do you know her?" Tom asks in concern.
"We were showed her picture, and told that there's a fifty thousand pound reward out for anyone who finds her." He explains.
Fifteen thousand pounds.. for me? Who would care that much to find me? The only person who would even somewhat care about me being missing is my dad, but that's not because he actually wants me back. He most definitely would not put out a fifteen thousand pound reward to get me back.
"And you didn't think to mention this earlier?" Tom asks with a groan.
"I'm sorry I just- I had just shot you and I was stressed." The kid shakes his head and my eyes widen.
"He's the one that shot you?!" I exclaim and Tom rolls his eyes.
Oh I know he's not gonna have an attitude with me about this. Absolutely not. This is fucking insane.
"Aaron go tell everything about this to Rubin and he will take care of it." Tom says, sending the kid off.
"Really Tom? The guy that shot you is here?" I say angrily.
"He's just a kid Chlo." He sighs.
Honestly I couldn't care less if he's a fucking kid he could have killed Tom. I'm almost as protective over him as he is of me. I don't want to see the kid that hurt him.
"Come on, let's go relax. You need it." He says, pulling me inside.
He was the one that was shot and here he is, trying to take care of me and make sure I'm okay. This boy could be on his death bed and he'd think of everyone but himself.
We walk into a large living space that has huge windows that look over the beautiful garden. There's several men in here, and i stiffen with anxiety. Tom takes notice, and catches everyone's attention.
"Out." He says.
It only took that one word, and everyone scurries out of the room, leaving it to just the two of us. They listen to him without a single protest. He has complete control over them and it's a little scary.. it's going to take time to get use to all of this.
"So.. yesterday morning." He starts. "Chloe I really hope you stay."
I smile, taking my friends hand in my own. Honestly, I don't know what it would take for me to leave him, if anything possibly could. All I know is I don't want to leave. I want to be here. With him. Even if he does have this crazy life.
"I'm not going anywhere." I say and his eyes light up. He looks a bit shocked, and honestly I'm a bit shocked with myself as well.
"Thank god." He smiles.
"I don't scare that easily." I giggle. "Although your best friend trying to kiss me was a bit frightening."
His brows rise, now an even more shocked expression in his face.
"I'm sorry, what? Harrison kissed you?" He questions.
"Well- tried to until I slapped him." I say and his hand flies over his mouth.
"You slapped him? No way." He shakes his head.
"Yup." I nod.
"So.. you didn't want to kiss him?"
I burst out laughing, but Tom stays one hundred percent serious. Does he actually think I wanted to kiss Harrison? Haz is kind of like an annoying little brother, I definitely don't see him that way at all. Maybe if he had gone through with asking me out three years ago, but now? It's just not like that. We're not in that place.
"Absolutely not. Haz is not my type." I laugh.
"Quite honestly darling, I'm relieved to hear that."
"And why's that?" I ask, lifting my brow.
"Well..." he starts, and a man walks into the room. He looks worried, even through his poker face.
"Sir, I think you'll want to see this."A/N: you guys already know I'm gonna drag this out and annoy the shit out of you😂
