Chapter 33

"I'll see you tomorrow?"
I ask dropping her off and she nods with a smile. She leans in and kisses me and then she gets off the car after a final goodbye. I call Camilla, a producer from work
"Aaron"
She says
"I miss you"
I say and she laughs
"What do you want?"
She asks and I can already imagine her as she rolls her eyes annoyed
"I need a favour, you have one of the best ears and you one of the best in the game. I'm sending you something I did with Liv, now obviously we looking for another male artist except me. I'll pay whatever it costs"
She gasps
"You and Liv are dating?"
She asks and I chuckle
"Actually I'm coming by with a flash drive. I need you to do whatever you can with the song"
I say and she laughs at me
"I'll be in Studio C. See you then"
She says and I end the call and drive to studio. I park and then walk into the building and head on straight to studio C to find her playing around with beats
"This sounds dope"
I say and she presses pause
"Sup kid?"
We fist bump and I throw myself on the couch
"Non much, so please listen to this and then give me your honest feedback"
I say handing the drive over to her and she inserts it and plays it.
"Is that you?"
She asks and I nod
"That's tight! What language is that?"
She asks and I chuckle
"Xhosa"
She nods
"Now why do you want someone else when this sounds perfect with you? I dont understand it but its definitely tight! This is fire kid!"
She says and I squint my eyes
"You think?"
She nods
"I think she needs to up it a little on the second verse and then bring it down towards the end"
She says and I nod
"Now you see here, there should be a pause and then she takes it from the top singing high pitched and then bring it down until the end. It needs to end while it's still nice. I like the dialogue between you guys, how you mixed english with your mother tongue. It's really dope kiddo, dont know why you want someone else to do it"
She says and I shrug
"Cause i got a lot on my plate, i was only playing around"
I say and she shrugs
"I cant imagine this song going any way different than this. This is a killa track. Have your girl come to record this Sunday at 10"
I laugh
"Not my girl"
I say and she laughs
"Whatever you say kid. So go in studio and do your parts again, theres something I want to add to this beat"
She says
"Also add edlibs on your second line something like"
She hums it out how I should do it and I smile
"Makes sense. See why I love working with you!"
I say and walk to the recording booth and do my thing playing the song in between and tweaking it here and there
"If she doesnt like it, shes welcome to change it but according to me this is a hit. It'll knock you out of the number one spot"
She says and I chuckle
"Its whatever man. Thanks again Cam"
I say getting out of the booth and joining her in studio.
We walk into my place with my hands covering her eyes
"Aaron you going to make me trip"
She says with a chuckle
"We here"
I say removing my hands from her eyes and she looks around shocked. I set us up for an indoor date. Theres rose petals on the floor in my dining area all the way upstairs and in the bathtub where theres a nice bubble bath with oils and all. She walks over to the table with red candles lit and a dinner set for 2. I'll admit it took me a while to set this up to perfection with the help of the internet and mom guiding me on how to make the food. After 2 failed attempts of cooking tonight's meal I finally got it right. Its nothing fancy, just a chicken wrap, wedges, creamed brocolli, grilled veggies and I bought us caramel cake since she loves it.
"Aaron this is a lot!"
She says and I wrap my arms around her and kiss her neck
"Its not. Pretty sure how I broke your virginity was not how you imagined it would be and this is me trying to make up for it. No pressure or anything"
She chuckles
"No pressure you say"
She teases and I unwrap my arms and open the chair for her to sit down and then I sit opposite her
"I don't know what to say"
She says and I smile
"Was kinda going for that reaction"
I say and she smiles
"Thank you for this"
She says and I shrug
"What can I say, I'm a romantic"
I say with a smirk, she rolls her eyes at me. We dig into our food, I watch her indulge
"This tastes amazing. Where did you buy it?"
She asks and I laugh
"6 hours slaving over a hot stove and oil for you to say I bought all of this. Such disrespect!"
She laughs
"You made all of this?"
She asks in shock and I nod
"Girl what do you take me for?"
I tease and she laughs
"You must really want to hit it"
She says and I chuckle
"I didn't necessarily set this up to get some later on, though I wouldnt mind but I'm ok with whatever you comfortable with. I'm not tryna pressure you into anything Liv"
I say and she nods
"Thank you"
She says holding her hand out to me, I place mine and she caresses it
"I never took you for romance"
She says and I shrug
"I'll be leaving soon so might as well give you the whole girlfriend experience before I leave"
I say and she blushes making me smile. I dont regret pursuing Liv, shes sweet and very direct with what she wants or doesnt want. With her I dont have to second guess myself or what I want from her or worrying how what I do will come across to her.
"So I kind of have one last surprise for you"
I say and she frowns
"Dont frown it's a good surprise"
I say and she still looks at me blankly. I press play on my phone and her song comes on. She looks at me with clear shock plastered on her beautiful face
"I know I said I'd get you another artist but what better artist than me?"
I say kissing the back of her hand, she smiles with teary eyes and gets up and comes to sit on my lap
"This is a lot Aaron. I dont know what to say, how to thank you... I just... I dont know"
She says and I kiss her admiring how adorable she looks right now. I love seeing her happy. I'm not a player, Asante made me enjoy being in a relationship, she made me enjoy doing the little things for someone and as much as she didnt want me doing things for her, her happiness was everything and yes it hurt letting go but that warmth of being with someone who is only about you is the best feeling ever. To love and to be loved in return is so nice and hence I love my relationship with Liv. She let's me do things for and she appreciates them without making me feel bad for doing things for her. What I also like about Liv is that she is used to nice things and so she doesnt make it difficult to spoil her rotten and I also like the fact that she's humble too and not out there. Very reserved. I like that.
She kisses me back and our kiss escalates
"You mentioned something about giving me the full virgin breaking of my dreams experience"
