Never did I ever think she would walk into this studio not with Squash. Pretty sure Sandy was the one to initiate friendship because Asante would never try that. I'm still stunned that shes here in front of me and not running for the hills
"You two know each other?"

Squash asks with her eyes widened, i cant help let out a chuckle

"She's the one that got away"

I say and Sandy's eyes widen. I dont know how she didnt recognize her

"Wow. I had no idea"

Squash says

"Hi Asante"

I greet, my face neutral and calm but deep down I want to take her away and lock us in a room so we can talk. The thought of her having went through what she went through hurts me

"Hi Aaron"

Snowflake says coldly

"Before this gets all awkward. We should get going, right?"

Sandy says

"See you at the show Asante"

I say and she doesnt respond but u know my friend will convince her to come through. I watch them leave and Azure looks at me as I smile alone
"And then?"
He asks bringing me back
"Shes the one behind the songs, shes the one the songs are about. Didnt you recognize her from the last time we were here together?"
He shakes his head no and I just nod ok. I return back to the singing booth and continue with the song.
I meet up with Lumi at a restuarant for dinner before we go clubbing
" I saw Asante today"
I say and he nods looking up at me to probably read my face
"And?"
He asks and I shrug
"She was her normal cold self. I need her address"
I say and he frowns looking confused
"I dont think that's a road you want to go down again"
He says
"That's not for you to decide. Please give me her address or I can ask someone else"
I say and he let's out a sigh
"I dont know where they leave anymore. After Vela and I broke up they moved to another place"
He says
"Why would you cheat on her though? I mean you'd found the perfect girl for you. Someone who got you and understood you, you were happy with her"
He shrugs
"And I really was happy. Greed got the best of me"
He says and I nod
"That's true. Have you tried winning her back?"
I ask him and he nods
"I did everything by the book but she never forgave me"
I tap him on his shoulder
"Sorry bro. Let me call Squash real quick"
I say getting up and walking to the restroom. I dial Sandy's number and she answers
"Sup Squash?"
She answers
"So I cant call my best friend?"
I tease
"I know you Aaron, you text. You only call when you need something"
She says and I chuckle
"Ouch. I'm offended"
I say and she laughs
"What's up?"
She asks
"You dropped Asante off at her place right?"
I ask her
"I did... why?"
She asks
"For a writer you sure are slow at times. I need her address"
I say and she laughs at me
"I'll send it to you on WhatsApp. Whatever you trying to do better not lead to me losing a friend"
She says and I laugh
"A friend? Ambitious much?"
I tease
"Nope. She and I vibed and we friends now"
She says
"Must be nice. Send the address when you done please. I have to go"
I say and she chuckles
"Always using me Aaron Langa!!!"
She says and I chuckle
"Bye Squash. I love you"
I say and we end the call both laughing.

I spot Asante getting out of her building as I was sitting in the car contemplating going in. She looks fucking gorgeous and she always does. I switch off the engine and the music goes off as I step out of the car. I close the door and look both sides before crossing over to her.

"Asante"

I say and she nods

"Aaron"

She says, I scan her from head to toe

"Where are you going? I'd like to take you"

I offer and she shoots me a glare, I fire one myself challenging.
"I am going to work"

She says

"Then lets go"

I offer and she let's out a sigh without any arguements. We cross to my car and I walk to open for her before going to my side to start the car.

"What time does your shift end?"

I ask her

"6pm"

She says quietly

"cool, we going out for supper"

I say to her and she scoffs

"No"

She says and I chuckle

"I wasn't asking. Asking you is like talking to a brick wall with

hopes to get an answer. I'll pick you up straight from work"

I say to her because I know her

"You can't bully me into going out with you Aaron"

She says folding her arms and pouting

"Pout all you want but we going out tonight and you going to

make me understand why the fuck you ghosted me"
I say and she chuckles sarcastically

"I ghosted you? Aaron need I remind you that you are the one

that up'd and left me"

She fires and I let out another chuckle not wanting to get all fired up

"Were you not the one who ended things with me for no

reason or whatsoever? Was I supposed to stay and beg for

someone who clearly wanted nothing to do with me?"

I ask

"This I pointless"

She says and I laugh sarcastically

"Of cause it is because you can't think of a lie right now. Asante

everything wrong that happened between us was because you

did everything in your power to ruin our relationship"

I say

"So you leaving the second time doesn't count?"

She says and I steal a glance at her

"So sex was supposed to make me stay with you?"
I ask and she swallows loud enough
"if you weren't drunk would we have even had sex? Asante you

never showed any kind of interest in me either than sexually.

What was I supposed to think huh?"

I decide to ask and she doesnt respond to me

"I see you haven't changed, still can't handle being put on the

spot. I can't with you Asante. You just make me so mad"

I continue angrily hitting on the steering wheel because Asante drives me fucking nuts and the fact that shes quiet right now only pisses me off

"I love you Asante, I can't get you out of my fucking system.

You are who I want to spend the rest of my fucking life with"

i yell, not intentionally
"I'm giving you a week to decide what it is you want"

i add parking in front of the restuarant she works in

"I don't want to date you Asante, I want a wife to settle down

with. I look forward to hearing from you"

I say and she still keeps quiet. I look at her waiting for a response

"Thank you for the lift"

She says and then turns to open the door. I unlock the doors

"I'll be here at 6pm"
