AFTER FELIX HAD SHOWED Chan the charred area, he was quick to guide him back towards where they had been minutes before.
The structure came into view rather quickly, much to Chan's surprise, and he swallowed nervously.
He hoped that Seungmin wouldn't start throwing baseballs- or rocks, for that matter -at him again, and expect him to squirt water from his hands to shield himself.
Though, just as they had left it, it was empty. And it caused Chan to let out a heavy breath of relief.
Don't get him wrong, after Felix's speech he was sure he could do something about his strange array of 'abilities', but he was not looking to bust his head open because Seungmin pitched like a madman.
As they walked past the structure, Chan side-eyed it. This caught Felix's attention- and the phoenix just elbowed him gently and shook his head.
"Stop glaring at that thing and come on," Felix huffed with an amused smile, "We're not going to go back to what we were going to do. Seungmin and Changbin got the memo when they left."
Chan nodded his head slightly, and continued to follow Felix back towards the house.
Felix had wasted no time opening the door and holding it for Chan, pointing at the rug for Chan to wipe his (very dirty) feet on. He did so, and then followed after a now-barefooted Felix.
He led him through the house, only to duck down beneath a low door (one that looked like it belonged to a giant dog, quite frankly) and into another room. Chan followed, leaning down so he didn't hit his head.
The room was lit dimly, the only light being the light coming from a small night light plugged into one of the walls.
"I'm sorry if his room's a mess, he doesn't clean it for shit."
Chan snorted, nodding his head as if to say 'obviously'. "Who's room is this exactly?"
The phoenix chuckled, "Changbin's. Jisung calls it the dog house, though- only because he's rarely in here unless he's sulking. He usually sleeps at the bottom of Jisung's bed."
Chan felt himself laugh, "So Changbin is essentially Jisung's pet?"
Felix paused, straightening his back and giving Chan a confused look- his nose wrinkled slightly and his eyes wide, while his eyebrows were pinched on his forehead. "Uh, sure? I guess you could put it that way."
Without another word, Felix opened another door, and stepped through it, motioning with a hand for Chan to hurry up and follow him.
Chan almost fell down the stairs that he failed to see, though- and he would have had Felix not pressed him against the wall with his hand.
"Be careful, you're gonna die if you move any faster."
Once again, Felix began to move- taking slow, careful steps down the creaking stairs. Chan followed him, matching his pace with his hand against the wall just in case he did fall (as if it would have helped him).
Once Felix and Chan reached the bottom, Felix flicked on a light, which caused a series of bulbs to light up after flickering for a moment.
This would explain why Changbin is built like a goblin, Chan snorted to himself.
"Oh, yeah. This is why Changbin is built like a goblin."
Chan choked on his saliva, his eyes wide as he looked at Felix. His skin had paled, and Felix looked unaffected by it.
"You heard that?"
Felix blinked at him, almost clueless, and then nodded his head. "I hear a lot of things. Why? Did you not say that?"
