Luz's day was like any other. The only thing that was out of place was she forgot her homework in her house.

She had screamed in a panic over it halfway through going to school did she rush back to grab it only to find herself tripping mid-way for her front door.

Dusting her knees, she rushed inside and quickly grabbed it before fumbling over locking the front door.

It's been five days since Camila had left for work purposes to a farther hospital leaving her all alone in the house until the weekends per usual.

...

"Huh, Luz is running a minute late today." Gus pondered after checking his watch.

Willow chuckled before saying, "what makes you say that? We're an hour early y'now, Gus."

"Yeah, but Luz always comes to before everyone in our class! I mean... She has a straight record of always being the first one in class." Gus said.

"And where'd you get that from?" Willow asked.

"From the teachers, they all know Luz's mom as a nurse to a doctor so they're very wary of who Luz is." Gus said before glancing over the window only to be met with Luz jumping through it.

It caught both Willow and Gus off guard to jump a bit.

Luz relieved a sigh.

"Not too late to be late!" She exclaimed between her breather as she dusted her jacket and placed her homework on her table.

"You mean not too late to be early?" Gus laughed.

Luz perked up and immediately greeted the two of them into a hug. Classic Luz.

"Sorry I'm late, you two." She said.

Willow chuckled before saying, "Luz, you're still early."

Luz meekly scratched the back of her head.

"I know." She said.

...

"Dios mio..." Luz was in awe when she saw the book on display in the antique shop.

Willow smiled.

"What's up?" She asked.

Luz smiled while pointing at the displayed book.

"Look, the leather on this book is so old but still super pretty!!" She said before rushing inside the store.

"Ah! Wait, luz!"

Too late as Luz had already shut the door after the bell rang on top.

Gus smiled.

"Welp, you can't really stop her even when she wants something from an antique shop where a hooded lady works. Everyone says she's a witch and that she's not someone to be messed with unless you want to be cursed with a purple tongue." He said.

Willow sighed before following inside the shop with Gus trailing behind her.

...

Looking around, Luz smiled when she saw the book. Reaching forward to grab it, a hand immediately grabbed her by the wrist.

Looking over, a hooded woman greeted her with a frown.

"Uhh..."

She was speechless over the towering sight.

"Luz?"

Luz flinched and yanked her glanced over her shoulder when Willow called for her.

"What's your business here, kid?"

Luz immediately yanked her attention back over to them when she spoke.

Smiling all she said was, "the book in displayed looked really pretty, mam."
