Various mantras were chanted by the priests sitting around the sacrificial alter. Beside them sat the King of Panchal, Draupad along with his wife. They sat near the burning fire with folded hands and their eyes glistening with devotion as they looked at the blaming fire.
"O king, a son will be born to you who possess, as you desire, great power and great strength. A son who will be the one to slaughter Drona and the one to aquire the throne of Panchal after the Drupada." The priest said.
"O king a daughter too will be born to you with the son from this sacrificial fire, She will be wedded to the one who had once defeated the king." The priest said as he poured ghee into the sacrificial fire.
Flames rose high from the altar as soon as the ghee touched the sacrificial fire. Upon the flames emerged a young boy.

He had a sword in his one hand while the other carried a bow and arrows. He looked celestial and his body was encased in an excellent armour.
As he walked down the yagna a thunderous voice said, "The price has been born for the destruction of Drona. He will dispel the all the fears of the panchalas and spread their fame. He shall also remove the grief of the king."

And behind him came a girl emerging from the same sacrificial alter. Her eyes were black, and large as lotus-petals. Her complexion was dark and locks were black and curly. She had faultless features endued with youth and intelligence, she was extremely beautiful with her slender waist. From her body emitted a fragrance like unto that of the blue lotus. She looked like a celestial born among men.
