Chapter 14

"Anong sinasabi mo?"

Napa-kunot ang noo ko, nang marinig ang sabihin niya. Hindi ko alam kung anong ibig sabihin niya doon. Sinong lalaki ang tinutukoy niya? 

Hindi ba si....

"Si Caleb ba?" Tanong ko.

Para siyang nagulat sa sinabi ko, dahil napa-awang pa ang labi niya. I bit my lower lip to stifle a laugh, because I think this isn't the right time to laugh right now.

After being shocked for a few minutes, he became serious again and faked a cough.

"Si Caleb 'yon?" Tanong niya.

"Oo, we saw each other at the grocery store. We both shopped for groceries together, and I invited him to have lunch so he could tell me about his love life," I said.

"He... has a lovelife?" He asked.

"Yes! He's engaged stupid," I chuckled.

"Oh," he looked away. "I-I didn't know."

"It's okay, love. 'Wag ka kasing seloso," I laughed.

"Paanong hindi? I couldn't give you enough time. I couldn't give my kids enough time. You might find someone better than me," he said.

I giggled, and stepped close to him. I cupped his face to give him a kiss.

This man.

"Derrick, matanda na 'ko. Wala nang lalandi sa 'kin," tumawa ako.

"Maganda ka naman!" He pouted like a kid.

"At saka, hindi naman ako lalandi sa iba ano ka ba! You're the only man I love," I said looking straight into his eyes.

"Even if I couldn't give you more time?" He asked.

I forced a smile.

"Even if you couldn't give me more time."

Our routine kept on going for the next passing months, until I've noticed something between my three kids... that's not really I expected. Hindi ko alam kung minsan bad mood lang isa sa kanila, kung malungkot lang ba, o ewan. 

"Debs?" 

I found myself walking to the pool area, where I saw Aura. She's sitting down the grass, wearing a gray sweatshirt with a pair of gray sweatpants. Lumingon siya agad sa 'kin nang makita niya 'ko.

"Baby? What's wrong? Why are you here?" I asked.
