Chapter 41 - Concerningly Close

"Klaus!" We hear Rebekah shout from the warehouse room.

I follow Klaus in to see the problem.

"Something's wrong, he keeps asking about Mikael." She says.

I look at him, mouthing a 'be more subtle."

"Really? Is there something you're not telling us?" Klaus looks at him.

"I was just curious.." He lies, quite convincingly.

"We'll have to see about that." Klaus whooshes and snaps his neck.

My mouth forms an 'o'.

"Let's go." He hoists Stefan's body over his shoulder and carries him out, telling us to follow.

I look at Rebekah and do, because I would like to keep breathing.

Elena's POV a few hours from now.

We were setting up dominos in the classroom, trying to be discrete, as we didn't wanna get caught.

Matt walks in and knocks the line down.

"Uhg, Matt!" Caroline scoffs at the undone work.

"Sorry, I didn't know anyone else was here..!" He chuckles.

Caroline looks at him dumbfounded. "It's senior prank night! We've only been waiting for this since like, freshmen year!"

I chuckle. "I'm going to super glue Alaric's desk shut."

I walk out of the classroom, and turn the corner.

"Hello Luv." I bump into the figure whom appeared before me.

I gasp at the sight.

"Klaus-"

I turn around to run, but then he's there.

"Now we both knew that wasn't going to work." He giggles and grabs my arm, dragging me down the hall."

Eleanor's POV an hour before

I wake up to someone opening the back of the truck.

"And here we are, Mystic Falls!" Klaus smiles.

I sit up and groan, rubbing my eyes and adjusting myself from the position that had grown uncomfortable.

"Now Stefan, I've been wondering why you were holding on to your humanity, and at first I thought Damon, and then I was like, eeeh, probably not."

I scoff. "Get to the point Klaus."

He chuckles. "And then I thought there was something you were hiding, like, Elena."

Stefan goes pale, and I bite my lip.

"Eleanor, I'm assuming you were helping hide her." He says.

"Well-" I start to explain but then I realise there was no point. "Wait no! I am not getting in the middle of this!"

I get off the floor and start walking out of the truck.

"I am going to go pay my brother a visit while I am in town."

He grabs my arm as I'm about to jump out and pushes me back.

"You will be doing no such thing, Rebekah, keep an eye on these two." He says.

She smirks with a nod, and Klaus shuts the door on his way out, the truck bed's lighting returning to the lights in the back without the sun.
