CHAPTER 22: LOVE IS PAIN
“Two hundred fifty-eight … Two hundred fifty-nine …”
Bawat suntok ni Mia ay sinasabayan niya ng bilang.
Nasa isang abandonandong warehouse siya. Madalas siya rito kung nais niyang mapag-isa at tanging siya lamang ang nakakaalam ng lugar na ito. Bukod sa pagiging warehouse ay isa rin itong training place niya.
“Two hundred sixty … Two hundred sixty-one … Two hundred sixty-two …”
Tuloy-tuloy lang siya sa pagsusuntok sa malaking punching bag.
She’s blocking all the unwanted images and scenes from popping inside her head by throwing punches.
Ang daming mga scene na bigla na lang niyang nakikita. Tila ba mga piraso ng nakaraan…
Parang ang dami niyang hindi alam na nangyari sa kanya. Parang flashbacks …
Before any scene pops up on her mind once more, she has already decided to go out of the country and look for the only man who can help her. She knows nothing of his current whereabouts but her gut is telling her something. Tila ba alam niya kung nasaan ito. And in no time, pupuntahan niya ito- kahit gaano pa kapanganib.

Nathaniel’s trying to contact her. He doesn’t care about his injuries. They are nothing compared to the hurt right now across his chest. He knows Mia is hiding something from him and that she’s quite unwell.
He has been contacting her ever since she went off, yet her phone is still off.
He can’t sleep after what happened.
He wants her in his arms. Seeing her in pain brought him memories of Tanya.
