Levi, Furlan, and Isabel live their lives in The Underground City as the most well know thugs around. One day, there was something left at their doorstep, possibly somet...
"Ahh~ She's so cute!" Isabel squealed while washing the baby under the sink.
"It's a girl?" Furlan asked, to which Isabel nodded in response, then continued to ask, now facing the seated boys, "How old do you think she is?" They shrugged in response.
"Haven't gotten a good look at 'er yet," Furlan answered.
"Hmm... I'd say maybe a few months, possibly less, her head is still squishy~"
"Oi, don't go pokin her like that or she's gonna have your brain damage." Levi snarked.
"Rude!" She hissed.
Furlan turned to Levi on the couch and said quietly, so his voice only reached Levi's ears,
"It's not like you to take in a kid like this. If she were grown and useful like Isabel is, I'd get it, but a baby?"
"Shut up," He groaned in response.
"Come on, why'd you do it?"
"Because I did."
"But, why?" Levi ignored his question and continued to sip his black, now slightly cold, tea.
'She looks just like her, and me,' he thought to himself.
. . .
"All clean!" Isabel shouted, holding the baby girl in the air, Levi and Furlan flicked their heads in different directions and looked away.
"Oi, I don't wanna see that! Wrap 'er up dumbass," Furlan barked at Isabel.
"She's just a baby," she huffed, wrapping the baby in a clean blanket. "You're gonna have to see her naked eventually, we're in this together, not just me, so get used to it."
"Yeah, but still, it feels weird. I don't wanna violate the kid."
"Whatever. Any idea if she has a name?" She asked the boys on the couch.
"I didn't see one in the basket," Furlan answered.
"Hmmm... How about Bethany!" Isabel said, snuggling the baby.
"Nah," Furlan wasn't for it. "How about Iris?"
"Too formal, Ella?" She asked. "Or Brittany? Megan? Ooo or Marionette?? Or maybe Charlotte?" She went on.
"No way, THOSE are all too formal. She's gonna be a badass! Not no prissy princess. She needs a name that's gonna make people know not to mess with her just by hearing it!" Furlan continued with his fist pumped in the air.
"Well, do you have any better ideas?"
"Not really." His brows furrowed as he leaned back into the couch.
"Levi, what do you think?" Isabel asked. Levi stood and made his way towards Isabel, gently taking the infant from her arms. He took a minute, looking at the baby girl that now sleeps in his arms. He moved the baby's small strands of hair from her face. "Lilith... Lilith Ackerman," he determined. The baby woke and cooed at his response.
"I think she likes it," Isabel said with a giggle and rubbed the baby's soft cheek with a finger.
"Lilith... I can live with that. Why does she gotta have your last name though? We're all gonna be raisin' 'er" Furlan asked.
"Because I said so," Levi hissed, still with his monotone voice.
"Yes Sir," Furlan replied, now standing next to Levi. The trio looked at the new life that lay within their future, determined this was going to change their lives.
