The next day came and I was able to leave the hospital. I didn't get much sleep since I was restrained all night and if I wanted to go to the bathroom, a nurse had to be with me. I hated it. I thought that it was a bunch of bull shit, but whatever. When Chi came to pick me up, he walked into the room with a backpack and handed it to me with a smile. I took it as I reciprocated the smile.
"Thank you." I said.
He sighed in a joyful way before saying, "I'm so proud of you and I don't think that I can say it enough. I wish I was able to give you the world cause you deserve it. You're so strong...I love you."
I kissed his cheek before I went into the bathroom and hummed, "I love you too." After I changed and left the bathroom, I said, "Alright, I'm ready to go."
He interlocked his fingers with mine before we left the hospital room and went down to the car. When I opened the door, I noticed that everyone, including Akihiko, were there. Once I was in, I turned around and smiled at everyone. Rin was sitting in one of the bucket seats of the car and handed me a little box as Chi got in the car.
"What's this?" I asked as she pushed it towards me.
Her face began to burn red as she said sheepishly, "It's supposed to help you get better."
As I was still facing the kids, I opened the little brown, two inch by two inch box that was handed to me. I opened it to see that it held a little crocheted stuffed fish that had a blue body and pink fins. I smiled upon seeing it cause it truly was adorable.
"Awe, it's so cute, Rin. Where did you get it from?" I asked.
She looked away as she replied, "I made it. Though it's stuffed, there's a bronzite crystal in the center. Though I'm not a person who really believes in crystals and their alleged healing abilities, it's supposed to help you heal."
I kept the smile up as I said, "Thank you so very much, Rin. I'll keep it close to me so it will work." She just nodded her head.
"Ready to go?" asked Chi.
I turned around in my seat and buckled in before saying, "Yeah, let's go." The whole time I was looking down at the little crocheted fish that Rin made. Honestly, I didn't even know how she learned to crochet, but as long as she's happy with whatever she does, I don't care. I then looked up as I unbuckled once the car shut off and saw that we were at Toshi's instead of being at home. "What are we doing here?" I asked Chi.
He took the keys out of the ignition as he said, "He's been worried sick about you, so how do you expect that I wouldn't bring you to see him?"
I sighed through my nose before saying, "Well then, let's go so he stops worrying." and got out of the car, which everyone then followed after me.
We all walked up to the door, to which Chi knocked on the door before we waited a few seconds before it opened. As soon as Toshi saw me, he threw his arms around me and said in a relieved tone, "I'm so glad to see that you're alright and to hear that you're going to go through with treatment."
I put my arms around him and said, "Thanks."
He then let go and invited us in, "Come in for a while. Let's talk-" he looked around me and to the kids, "it feels like forever since I've seen you all here at once."
As we walked in, each of the kids, except Akihiko, gave Toshi a hug after they took off their shoes and before they walked to the living room. Once we were all sitting, Ryu got his attention.
"Hey, grandpa?" said Ryushi.
"What is it, young Ryu?" Toshi replied.
Ryu was fiddling with his fingers in his lap before saying, "I'd like you to meet Noboru Akihiko. He's...he's my boyfriend."
