Once the first years had taken their exams, it was finally time for the first years class trip to the same lodge that my class went to. I woke up that morning, dreading it as I always did when I was asked to tag along. It was the first day of summer break and I wanted to sleep in. That plan was shot since I had to get up and get ready, along with packing my things last minute. Thank god that I'm a low maintenance person so I just had to pack a backpack and call it good. After I finished packing, Chi just got up. He stood up and walked to me, taking the bag out of my hand and setting it on top of the dresser since I was standing by it.

He put his arms around me and said in a warm tone, "Be careful."

I put my arms around him, "I will. You don't have to worry anyways; it's safe and nothing has happened in years. Not since my class."

He began to ever so lightly rock from side to side, "I don't care, there is always a first for everything, even after a long time..." he paused, "...It's like a volcano."

I couldn't help but laugh at the last statement. "Like a volcano?" I echoed as I looked up at him, still holding each other.

He nodded his head and said in a serious tone that matched his expression, "Yes, exactly like one." I then gave a pouty face. "I hate it when you go off on the UA trips, babe. I worry that something bad is going to happen, no matter how safe it may seem."

I squeezed him as I said with a smile, "I know you worry, but I'll text you whenever I have the free time, alright?"

He sighed and said unwillingly, "Fine."

"Good."

He sighed again in a sad way and asked, "What time are you going to head to UA?"

I glanced over at the clock before back to Chi and replied, "In a couple more minutes. I packed a little faster than what I thought." He pulled my hood back and looked intensely into my eyes. "What?" I asked with a smile as I raised an eyebrow.

He then bent down and kissed me before asking as he was an inch from my face, "Are you sure that you have to go?" he asked in a whine.

I went up on my tip toes and kissed him before responding, "Yes, I do. I have to watch after the girls."

He looked bummed out as he let go of me and just looked at me as though it was the last time we were going to see each other. "I don't like being so far apart."

I took his hand and locked our fingers, and looked up at him as I agreed, "I don't either, but at least we'll be closer than what we are when you're off on I-island...so it's no different."

He hummed before saying, "I suppose you're right...and I have sometimes left at bad times for you so I should just suck it up and act like a man."

I held onto his hand as I put my other up to his cheek, "A real man worries about his wife and family. A real man shows that he has soft spots..." I smiled as I went on, "and that is something that I really love about you. You aren't afraid to show that you're a real person too."

He put his free hand on my hand that was on his cheek and kissed the palm before saying, "Quit saying such things about me or else I'll cry when you leave."

I giggled and stroked my thumb over his cheek a few times as I said, "I love you."

His grip tightened on the hand he was holding and said, "Now I am for sure going to cry."

I let go of him and put my arms around him and gave a pouty smile, "Oh what am I to do with you?" I asked under my breath.

"Stay home?" he tried.
