Nostalgic feeling

It was almost noon when he woke up, the birds chirping and the waves crashing onto the rocks in the shore, it was a pleasant sound to hear when you wake up.

He had a job interview today, at exactly 12:00pm in the afternoon and right now it was 10:46am so he didn't really have much time.

Scurrying around the house to gather the belongings he needed, crashing and bumping into walls on the way, 'so much for a pleasant morning' he thought, with no hope left to spare.

His mind was set on being late for the interview and having to move back with his mother in the states. Let's just say he didn't exactly like it there, he always felt like he had forgotten something back in korea. Well he did have amnesia so that explains quiet a lot.

He managed to remember his mother and regain memories of them when they still lived in korea, but most were blurry and a pain in the head when he tries to recall them so naturally he stopped trying to remember and focused on new memories.

It was already quarter to twelve when he arrived at the agency he planned on working in, considering that his home was slightly far from the actual city since he lived by the beach.

Right now he looked like a rookie trying to live of off part time jobs. Struggling to survive in such a major city as he followed his dreams.

Dark circles threatened to form on his underarms, nerves being too over bearing that he started to hyperventilate. Was this the nervousness and nausea people had always talked about? He had not once been to such a major event ever since he regained consciousness so he never got to recall how it felt.

It would have looked ridiculous to a stranger's point of view but to him he was just simply encouraging himself, by giving himself pep talk.

"Next!" The lady keeping people in check shouted from the interview room. This was it, his hard work would finally be put to use.

"Hi I'm.... Nice to meet you" he introduced himself, all nervousness from earlier disappearing into thin air.

"Nice to meet you too Mr. Park Jimin, I'll be interviewing you today"

The interview ended with ease, he just had to wait for the email they would send, confirming wether or not he would be employed.

But that was a problem for another day, right now he needed to find a place to eat.

Aha! A cafe shouldn't be too bad right? He enjoyed pastries along with coffee and doesn't really have a large appetite. He hadn't realized when he started searching for tteokboki in the menu but there he was, standing in front of the register, staring at the menu for god knows how long.

"Sir, could I assist you on whatever your looking for?" Startled and quite embarrassed, Jimin kindly denies the cashier's polite offer.

"Ah that wouldn't be necessary, can I get a box of original chocolate chip cookies and an iced americano to go please?" the young girl nods and instructs him to go grab a seat while he waits.

He does as he was told and sat by the window, pulling out his phone along with his earphones and continued to listen to music.

For some reason his actions felt off and almost nostalgic, he had always done this before so why did it feel different now? He brushed it off as the adrenaline still left from the interview.

But deep down he knew that just wasn't the case, something was trying to crawl its way back up, back into his memories, back into his life.

"Sir your iced americano and chocolate chip cookies" he received the paper bag of sweets with a warm thank you, mouth watering as he exited the coffee scented and pastry filled shop.

He was about to go to the bus station when he passes by a river, the han river to be exact.

He found himself walking straight to a bench, hunger getting to him as he unboxed his order, watching the river flow calmly as he took a sip of his iced drink.

This was what he needed, some time to cool off, rid of all pressure. It really was a time to be alive.

After hours of relaxation, he finally decided to go back, running to the bus station to reach the bus before sunset. He made it, thankful for the short line the station had today.

He watched as they passed trees and structures of different kinds, the amount of people lessens as they get closer to the coast side. The view of the sun hitting the water just reminded him that no matter what nightmare or paradise was hidden in his treasure box of locked memories, it still would be okay. He worked hard to be the person he was now, building upon a non existent structure was hard enough, he didn't need to change once more for his past, today, along with tomorrow were a closer step to a brighter future starring a new beginning.
