"So . . . what's been going on with Fitz lately?" Biana asked.

Sophie sighed, still trying to brush the tangles out of her hair. "I don't know . . . if I'm being honest . . ." she trailed off.

Biana raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"If I'm being honest, I'm not sure I like him anymore, y'know?"

"Really?" Biana looked shocked. "Do you like someone else then?"

Sophie could barely talk, but she knew it was the right moment. "Yeah."

Biana turned to Sophie, her face scrunching up in excitement. "Gossip! Who is it?"

Sophie's smile faded, and she mumbled something under her breath.

Biana leaned closer, allowing goose bumps to spread up and down Sophie's arm. "What did you say?"

"I said . . ." Sophie squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to say anything. "You."

Biana put her fingers under Sophie's chin, forcing her to look up at Biana's face. "Good," she said softly. "Because I like you, too."

"Really?" Sophie whispered. She didn't seem capable of words yet. But when Biana nodded, she knew it was the best she'd felt in a ridiculously long time. "Then I say good."

Biana smiled. "Me too."
