At the following evening the funeral was held. Not only the Queen but many brave warriors had died only hours ago. Still in shock Gale grabbed her sisters hand. They both were standing with the Asgardian people and on Erika's other side was Magnus. Andrea had ordered him to rest but he said he wanted to fulfil his last duty for the Queen.

While the warriors were wearing their amour the Asgardians wore their best gowns. Erika wore her mothers suit for the first time and surprisingly it fit her perfectly. She hesitated at first but then she remembered the words of Frigga. It was as if somebody had turned a switch in Erika's head. She felt braver now that she finally wore the suit, whether it's for the Queen or her mother.

The funeral was beautiful just like Erika remembered. For Gale on the other hand it was her first Asgardian funeral and she was really shocked when she saw Frigga's boat burn in flames. But as soon as the boat reached the waterfalls and Frigga's soul separated from her body, Gale couldn't help but think the Queen was in a better place now.

Meanwhile Erika was feeling her eyes water at the sight of dozens of boats floating across the water. She couldn't help but remember the moment when she was younger and had to watch hundreds of Valkyries floating. Including her mother.

When the ceremony ended they stood there a little longer.

"Do you think Mom, uhm, watches us from there?", Gale asked curiously while staring at the stars.

"I'm sure she's smiling at us right now.", Erika answered even if she wasn't sure. If a person dies in a battle they will go to Valhalla, a place where honoured warriors are. She wondered if her mother was there. Probably.

"Hi Mom!", Gale said and waved at the stars. As if on cue a shooting star flew across the night sky making the sisters gasp. While Gale was smiling happily Erika wasn't sure if it was real. But then she felt relief thinking her mother will take care of all the warriors who fell today and of course the Queen.

The day after the palace was still in chaos. But Erika actually didn't really care about the destruction inside the throne room. It was build up by lies anyways.

Since the funeral she barely slept but she didn't feel tired. In fact she was still scared. What would happen if Malekith came back? They were at an disadvantage since even Heimdall couldn't see the flying ships of the enemy. What about Jane? To be honest Erika was quite shocked when she found out the woman had the damn Aether in her. She knew this woman was powerful but this was another level.

When Erika wandered around the hallways aimlessly she was suddenly stopped by Fandral. Confused she looked at the man but he just put a finger on his lips signalling her to be silent. Still confused Erika followed him into a room. She was bored anyway so getting abducted came in handy.

"Lady Erika.", Hogun said as soon as she entered the room. The room itself wasn't big but in the middle was a big table. She was sure she had never been in this one before. "I'm glad you're here."

"Well, technically I was kidnapped.", Erika replied and sat down next to Hogun.

"I am very sorry for the sudden interruption of your walk, Lady Erika.", Fandral said. "But I believe this is very important even for you."

Still confused Erika wanted to ask further but then Thor entered the room. Everyone went silent at that. Even Volstagg who was telling Sif about his last hunt. Thor sat down as well and looked at every one of them slowly.

"What I'm about to ask of you is treason of the highest order.", he began. Erika couldn't help but smirk at these words. As a Valkyrie she should be under Odin's orders but boy she would do anything to annoy that hag. "Success will bring us exile, and failure shall mean our death."
