Harper Whittemore mumbled a quick goodbye to her friend before starting on her way to class. She sighed, hitching her backpack further up her shoulders as she weaved through the hallway.

Her shoulder collided with another, making her stumble back slightly.

"I'm so sorr-" she started. But Harper was immediately cut off by the boy in front of her.

"Can you not watch where you're going? Honestly, do you need a pair of glasses?" he asked in a snarky tone. Harper's eyes widened at his harshness. "I'm sorry, I was just-"

She was cut off again by the boy's voice, much louder this time. She was starting to get frustrated with the boy as he continued to yell at her. She rolled her eyes, shifting her weight from left to right.

"All right, listen here, Buzzcut. I don't know what the hell is going on with you, but-"

Harper was interrupted once again, but this time by another person. The rude boy with the buzzcut was slammed into a locker, making Harper step back with a gasp. She immediately identified the "attacker" as her older brother, Jackson.

"Listen here, Stiles. If I ever catch you yelling at my sister again- sorry, let me make myself even clearer. If I ever catch you so much as ten feet near Harper ever again, you better pray for yourself. Got it?" Jackson seethed, gripping the collar of Stiles's shirt tightly. The latter nodded quickly, a look of pure fear in his eyes.

"Jackson!" Harper hissed. Sure, she was angry at Stiles, but she didn't want him to get violently slammed into a locker and threatened by her brother. By now, the crowded hallway of students were all focused on them, making her let out an exasperated sigh.

Jackson gave Stiles one last glare before releasing his shirt. He turned around sharply, walking away. "Come on, Harper," he called.

Harper shot an apologetic look at Stiles before following her older brother down the hallway.
