"Shit," Elena mumbled. She rummaged through her bag for a pen, coming up with nothing but a gum wrapper and a quarter. Elena sighed, making her way into the classroom anyway. She was late and she didn't have a pen. As she slid into the seat behind Scott McCall, Coach glared at her, but decided not to call her out for being late. It was unusual for Coach to be quiet, but she chose to ignore it, grateful that he had spared her the embarrassment.

Scott's arm reached towards her, a pen between his fingers. Elena furrowed her eyebrows, but took the pen from him nonetheless.

How the hell did he know?

Once Coach had released the students for their next class, Elena couldn't help but overhear a conversation between Scott and his best friend, Stiles.

"I swear it was like Deja Vu! It was the same with Allison. She comes into class, and I overhear that she doesn't have a pen, so I reached back and gave her one!"

Stiles rolled his eyes. "That's great, buddy. But Elena isn't new to this school. She's been in our grade since freshman year," he said. Scott's mouth fell open.

Elena snorted as she continued on her way, rolling her eyes at the boy's complete obliviousness.

Later that day, Elena kicked her leg over her motorcycle, getting ready to leave school.

"WAIT!" Scott yelled out. Elena flipped the face of her helmet up, raising her eyebrows at the boy as he came jogging towards her.

"I'm Scott," he said. Elena chuckled, shaking her head. "I know."

Scott shifted his weight from left to right awkwardly, wracking his brain for something to say. "I take it that this isn't going well?" he asked. Elena shrugged, a grin spreading across her face.

"It's cute," she said. Scott smiled slightly. "Um do you wanna-" he started.

"Sure. Meet me at the cafe on Vajello. Tomorrow at three o'clock," she cut him off. Elena winked, slapping down the face of her helmet. She backed out of her parking spot, saluting the boy before riding away.

Scott watched as she rode into the distance, a huge smile taking over his face.
