It might have been around 12 PM, and Kwazii was crouched down in front of the bottom shelf of the fridge. He then turned around to face Dashi.
"We're out of salami," he said, covering his mouth
"You're joking," Dashi said, walking over to look in the shelf, too.
"I'm not," he said. The two glanced around. trying to find the package.
"Need a little help, you guys?" Shellington asked, basically hovering over the two. Shellington was like a phantom, he was so quiet and you'd never see him coming. His sudden appearance scared Dashi and Kwazii, and they both whipped their heads around to look at him.
"Shiver me whiskers, I think you just scared the soul out of me, matey," Kwazii said, flinging a hand onto his chest.
"Whoops, sorry about that," Shellington muttered. "I just wanted to know what you guys were doing."
"We're trying to find the package of salami, but we can't," Kwazii said, slouching down onto the ground. Shellington got down to their levels and looked around.
"Did you check every shelf?"
"Yeah, I did," Kwazii added.
"Did you check under every thing?" Shellington asked, turning around and almost swatting Kwazii in the eye with the flattened package of salami.
"What the-" Kwazii started before Dashi asked about it.
"Where was it?" she asked, glancing at the package.
"Under the orange juice," Shellington stated, waving the plastic around.
"Oh..." Kwazii mumbled, looking away to avoid embarrassment.
"Yup. There you go," he said, flopping the bag into Kwazii's hands.Dashi just really came to get a drink, but she stayed to help Kwazii find his stupid salami. Now, Shellington and Kwazii were sitting across from each other.
"What were you guys doing in the library?" Shellington asked, breaking the silence. Kwazii looked up from his sandwich.
"We just played a few games of checkers. Nothing much," he said, shrugging.
"Were you guys talking about crushes?" Shellington added. Kwazii whipped his head up, which led to his finger stabbing right up into the roof of his mouth. He covered his mouth.
"What?" Kwazii questioned, getting extremely suspicious of Shellington now.
"I just overheard your conversation, Kwazii," he said, holding his hands up in defense.
"Yeah, sure. I think my mouth is bleeding," Kwazii mumbled into his hands."Okay, it's not bleeding, but that really hurt," Kwazii said, poking his head out of the bathroom.
"Well, at least it isn't that bad," Shellington stated. He then turned around and headed for the laboratory.
"Where are ya going?" Kwazii asked, popping up next to him.
"Just to the laboratory. I just wanted to check on something," Shellington exclaimed. Kwazii's face scrunched up in confusion again.
"What do you need to check on?"
"You'll see!" Shellington said as the two made their way to the lab."What did you want to check on again?" Kwazii asked once more as they entered the room.
"These little guys!" Shellington exclaimed, holding his hands out. There sat small plants in even smaller pots.
"They're tiny plants!" Kwazii exclaimed, putting his hands to his face in awe.
"Yup! The Vegimals had this idea and we tried it out," Shellington exclaimed with a huge grin.
"What idea was it, matey?" Kwazii asked, tilting his head to the side.
"Well, we wanted to see what liquid do plants grow in better, aside from water," Shellington stated before pointing to each individual label.
"We tried different cooking oils, and even different types of drinks!" he added. Kwazii looked at the labels with a smile.
"That sounds really cool," he said. "Did you tell anyone about it?" Kwazii added, looking at Shellington.
"Not yet, we started a few days ago," he said.
"Ooh..." Kwazii mumbled.A few minutes passed by and the two were studying the plants.
"So, what were you guys actually talking about in the library earlier?"Kwazii looked up.
"You don't have to tell me, Kwazii," he added.
"Well, suddenly I'm all, you know, sappy? Is that the word I want to use?" Kwazii mumbled.
"Hmm, tell me about what you feel. Maybe I can help," Shellington said, turning his attention towards Kwazii.
"Well, I've never felt like this before, and it's so obvious because I feel like I'm acting out of character or something." Kwazii groaned, bouncing his head on the table.
"Just think about what's true, and go with that? I'm not that good in these types of situations, sorry Kwazii," Shellington muttered. Kwazii smiled.
"It's fine, I'm not either." The two looked at each other before laughing.
"All right, back to the plants."Words: 762 Words
